it really is a great method. it helps make sure those who get the game really wanted it. also so everyone knows iphgix managed to solve the puzzle. iphgix would you care to explain the puzzle or shall I for those who are interested?

Thanks for making an interesting giveaway. Even though I didn't try to solve it at all. I'm the person who solves a rubrik's cube by prying off all the pieces and gluing them back on.

brute force is often one of the best methods of solving a puzzle

Similar to his last puzzle the codes at the beginning give you the key

O/1/6/5

The O was for Overview and then the 1 for 1st paragraph 6 for 6th line and 5 for 5th letter.
That spelled out SUNGOD

The hint about Ceaser was for a Ceaser cipher or a shift. The last hint where he said D=A means to shift 3 which turns qdfnnkyqcoy into nackkhvnzlv

The Frnech guy with a similar Cipher was Vigenére. Instead of a consistant shift of X letters, that one uses a key or passphrase. int this case the SUNGOD...using RA as the key it decrypted to walkthenile.

Damn. I was "5 for 5th letter" away from cracking this two days ago :P
