Hi all, how often do you play shooters? Which ones are your favorites? I, for one, really like Stalker. I've gone over it and around it. Even made it a rule to play Stalker once a year, but every year.
Of those present at GOG, I heartily recommend Call of Juarez (original, but especially Gunslinger) if you want gunslinging, Blood, Serious Sam (FE+SE) and Painkiller if you want classic mindless carnage, System Shock and Bioshock if you'd like something with horror and customisation aspects, Postal 2 and Shadow Warrior for crude humour and creative weapon approach, Dark Forces/Jedi Knight if you like Star Wars at all and Battlefroont II for hands down best wartime chronicle experience. XIII and Unreal are also very solid, and if you like STALKER you might also like Dying Light, FEAR and Metro series, though they come with some serious drawbacks.

Wow you've listed the very games I've played repeatedly and they still sit on my shelf as a disc. Of all the games listed, the only one I haven't played is Call of Juarez. It's nice to know I'm not the only one playing these games. Although many underestimate FEAR when he first played a lot of emotions were received. StarWars Battlefront is a great game just like Republic Commando. Alien vs Predator is also a shooter and horror. If we talk about Metro Exodus is great.

You should definitely try them, of all wild west shooters they're probably the best (the only one that comes close is Red Dead Redemption, which isn't on GOG yet). And yeah, Alien vs Predator games, the old ones, were fun, I didn't mention them because what made it great ain't really the shooter bits, (pred)alien playstyle doesn't have any ranged combat, and predator's more fun when you favour melee.

That's not a Shooter, even though it has shooting in it. That's an Action/Adventure game. And it won't ever be coming to GOG, so there is no "yet" about it.

Half Life 2

Doom 2

Quake

System Shock 2 would be in the running but I've played all the ones in the top 3 heaps more than SS2.

And it's a console game, yadda-yadda, thus I didn't mention it in my first post at all. Still, the only thing that matters in our context - it's the only real - and fairly inferior, whatever console zealots may say, contender far as wild west gunslinging games go.
I enjoyed Blood, fun fast action with satisfying weapons.

UnReal Gold was interesting albeit slower paced. Reminded me of Metroid Prime tbh with the optional lore stuff.

I played through a bit of Metro 2033 before my mouse shat itself, was pretty fun, pretty intense.

Serious Sam 1 + 2 were fun with my brother, not how much mileage you could get on your own. More of a One man army type of shooter.

Devil Daggers is super fun as well, probably the most no bullshit shooter since it's one arena, the same enemy waves every time, and one uh gun. I think the longest the best players survive is like 10 minutes or something, not that that is part of the appeal, just hoe the game plays.

The list ended up just being most shooters I just straight up own. I think GOG has a pretty good selection.
ALL OF THEM!

Yeah, but still barely anyone even knows Marathon 1-3 even existed because it was tied to Mac and very few people ever played it. It could of have been as popular as Duke Nukem if it was on PC.
