Phc7006: Technically, there should be no difficulty getting at least the early TW games here (Shogun, Medieval, Rome, Medieval II) and these would be great additions to the Catalogue.

Now, when it comes to "mental" barriers, I suspect Sega is one of the difficult publishers, one that could make it a question of principle not to sell from a drm-free platform. Yet I thought the same of Bethesda and their ealier games are here now.

Elmofongo: Still waiting for Bethesda to give us the remaining 2 Quake games and its expansions (Is Quake 4 considered Classic Enough?), Doom 3+Resurrection of Evil, Wolfenstein 3D and Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and mabye Oblivion.
I Suspect we might see Oblivion, Wolfenstein 3D and quake II or even III in the coming months. Quake 4 should indeed be considered a classic imho
I hope so, it would be nice for the first three games to get some love.
Sega had their classic Genesis / Mega Drive games DRM-free on DotEmu for a time. Were they regionally restricted in Japan or elsewhere while they were there? Does anyone know why the games were pulled from the store?

I agree, the early TW games are very good and would be nice to have them here (and I bet they'll sell good too!), but they are already easily available in retail form anyway (without any online DRM that needs authentication or a client running in the background) so even if they don't find their way to GOG, will remain nearly DRM-Free - well, "DRM-Free" as "no net connection needed to install & play" because technically they aren't as, at least regarding Medieval II, it uses SecuROM for disk checking).

My wish would be to have Shogun II released on GOG, as I really enjoyed this particular game of the series due to the setting & the vastly updated graphics & sound in comparison to the first Shogun. I know, Shogun II DRM-Free (or any of the latest Total War games) is kind of wishful thinking but one can dream, right? :-)
The Total War games will be brought to GOG.com as soon as possible! That's all!

I learned the other day that is supposed to be the same as saying "Sega has currently no official plans to bring the Total War games to GOG.com.". :)

SirPrimalform: Unfortunately, Sega as a PC publisher seem to be pretty in love with Steam at the moment.
So was Bethesda. We can never know. However the HB is a good deal, especially the $1 tier.

The early titles are indeed easily made drm-free. Securom can be patched out if they want.

The latest titles, Shogun II, Rome II & Attila seem to be deeply inegrated with Valve's client, whereas Empire & Napoleon have much less evidence of that. I don't know whether or not this translates in more or less difficulty to get them working without Steam.

You're right, never say never.

You never know. GoG seems to have a miracle machine slowly churning in their offices, so I think we'll see them here some day.
Will Tron 2.0 ever be on Gog you think?

This is Quake 4

Hey, regardless of whatever subtle or not so subtle allegory they were going for, the gameplay was great.

Nowhere near as hamfisted as something like Call of Duty and it's "which non-white enemies of the great nation will we slay today!"
I sure do hope so ;)
