OHMYGODJCABOMB: but GOG said something like: "nah, we have a very highly demanded RPG event going on right now, requested by many messages from gamers".

OHMYGODJCABOMB: Don't spill your Soylent in a fit of rage.
You're the one raging here. What's next on your bitching list? Going to make another thread about how a banner contains a game that's not on the sale list?

OHMYGODJCABOMB: Yeah, THQ Nordic ignored numerous requests from its partner (GOG) for several years, but then suddenly reacted to a single request from a regular customer.

Sounds VE-E-ERY believable.
No proof, no shit.

OHMYGODJCABOMB: If something I bought on GOG affects my STEAM account in any way, that's definitely a problem. This, as you called it, "leftover" triggers the Steam overlay and writes game stats to my Steam account.

Compensation the inconvenience is a very common practice. I don't know why you're having any problem with that.
Because it'll never happen - contrary to your insane paranoia. I've demo'd a couple of pirated games with Steam on and nothing has ever happened. You think your account would be flagged for piracy because of a few leftover files? Really tells me how little you know about how any of this stuff works.

Well... Whole Gothic series is on sale right now, at really nice discount, even. So maybe they have some equivalent thing going unannounced?

Still, a proper THQ Nordic anniversary sale needs to be a thing. With front page banner and list of games to choose from.
I'm not asking for freebies like on Steam, but better discounts for very overpriced titles like Kingdoms of Amalur would be really appreciated. I've bought the game back when it came out, I ain't going to buy a digital backup for way more than what it cost then. And even though I've bought like a dozen boxed copies of Sacred over all the years I'd buy one again on sale, and Titan Quest too.

So one could hope.

UPD: great news, now Sacred and Darksiders series are on sale too, already bought them. My wishes get promptly fulfilled, heh.
It really seems that THQ Nordic sale is a part of RPG Month, in a fashion.

How could that be unless there is a regional pricing oddity? KoA originally retailed for $60, and that was without any of the DLC.

I'm not living in the US, not making dollars, and due to exchange rate getting FUBAR thanks to those idiot politicians many games had a massive jump in price between then and nowadays.
I don't think regional pricing factored in back then as much (leastwise not to degree of localized jewel cases), no more than having a gold discount card with the store I bought the imported keepcase at, but regional pricing sure matters a lot now, it is the only thing that keeps people here buying anything digital (and GOG's great at making classic games affordable).

The funniest thing here is that THQ Nordic raised regional prices in Russia to the skies right after the start of cooperation with Buka Entertainment (who made the Russian localization of Desperados III).

A very strange coincidence if you ask me.

I know that there is a perception among game journalists / game developers in Russia that Russians have the financial ability to pay full price for games.

The only problem with this perception is that almost all of these people live in central Russia (where salaries are much higher than in remote regions) and have already forgotten when they paid for games (complimentary keys / physical copies from publishers, press copies for reviews, and so on).

It's very easy to say that people in Russia can afford to buy games at full price when you get everything for free. (:

Ain't that the truth. Relatively recent one, though, our publishers used to be fairly good both in regards to pricing and localization quality but last years they've just been getting more and more rotten.

Still, while I'm new here GOG's been good to me. Lots of nice classics and sale prices great enough that you pick something nice every week. Shame that support's seemingly stopped working at all (the CP77 must be a really buggy mess to paralyze it so), but it'd get back up sooner or later.

You've done right by raising awareness of the event, but I figure they're too overworked at the moment and/or already penned it for the next month. Both Nordic and GOG record's has it spots, but both proven themselves to be customer-friendly.
UPD: or are they now? Don't really like the direction GOG's taking, but there's still hope.

OHMYGODJCABOMB: While Steam customers have awesome deals (like 90% off the entire Gothic series) and giveaways (Jagged Alliance and Titan Quest), we have nothing.
90% off discounts and/or free giveaway promotions of ancient games are certainly not "awesome deals." Rather, they are simply the normal & expected matter of course.

LOL WHAT DID I SAY?

Feels good to prove Karens wrong.
How long is this sale for?
As pointed out, we do have a sale, so this topic can be closed now. Please move all discussions to the appropriate thread. :)
