Or maybe it's because people these days are lazy as fuck. Seriously, clicking a "like" or "+1" button is about all the average web user these days is capable of. I blame all these mobile web devices, which make it harder to actually post some meaningful message. Or sites like twitter, which actively limit your ability to say anything thoughtful and constructive ( Is it like... 140 characters per message or something like that? ). Oh yeah, and kids these days. When in doubt, just blame the kids.

I'm pretty sure he had disabled comments on his YouTube videos due to some new TOS for quite a while now. Apparantly something has changed recently so that users would be allowed to comment again now, but chances are everyone has already gotten so used to not being able to comment that they didn't notice the change yet?

This. He disabled it at some point. Though strangely it has been on for a long time for me, I even left a comment on one video. I'm not entirely convinced it's actually working though, I'm thinking it may simply seem like it's working but is still off.

YouTube and Google+ merging, though that has recently changed. From what I recall, you no longer need a Google+ account for a YouTube account. Tell me if you want me to dig up the blog post.

Why do you care? People read my music reviews but don't comment. I don't care. Sure it would be nice, but people do what they want.
