Talby: I tried the account refresh but no luck. I didn't get any acknowledgement of the sale from GOG at all, but the money is gone from my bank account all the same. I'm going to wait over the weekend for a response, and if I haven't heard back from an actual person (not an automated reply) I'm going to issue a chargeback on my account and then I'm done buying games from GOG.

I hope 15 dollars was worth losing a customer of over 10 years, GOG!

Talby: Ashen.
You might have to use GALAXY to get it.

As they are abandoning offline installers already!

Ice_Mage: As mentioned twice in this thread, getting a response from support takes weeks, not days.
...
As for the support delay, it's been awful for 2 years now. It's not like you're being singled out for poor treatment.
I haven't contacted GOG support recently, but the times I've had, I've usually received a response within a few days, sometimes within a day.

But then I can't be sure if GOG has just recently laid off 99% of their support or something, after the last time I contacted them. I still disagree with your notion that is has been a norm for years for GOG support not to answer for weeks.

When?

I presume you will not be hanging around in the forums anymore either, right?

I'm just trying to understand this phenomenon where people, who claim to hate and boycott GOG and never purchase a thing here ever again, still seem to hang around in the GOG forums for years to come.

It is like GOG is their girlfriend (or boyfriend) who broke up with them and went with some other guy, and now they are stalking their ex-girlfriend from here to eternity. They are just unable to leave it behind in their lives.

If I ever felt I wouldn't want to do business with GOG anymore, I'd just permanently leave the site. I've done that with many other forums and online services in the past. That just seems more logical course of action to me, not visiting places you hate so much.

phaolo: Gog is a bit of a mess lately, but.. they made 1 purchase mistake over your 342 games in 10 years and you're gonna abandon them in 2 days for 15$?
GOG has been on a downward slide for years now, so it's more like it's the straw that broke the camel's back.

You have to understand that the users you mentioned have most probably been permanently banned from all other forums they ever frequented, because of their toxic behavior.

Only GOG allows them to come back after, what...? One week (two weeks, maybe four weeks at the most?) being banned?

That's nothing to these people. They laugh it off.
And then they return - with their spite refueled.

The sad truth is: at this point in their lives, they have burned so many bridges behind them, they have no other place to go.
And due to GOG's incompetency to keep their forums clean, we all have to suffer for it.
