I kinda want it back.
Would have done nothing. The problem is no staff/mods are online at this hour and there are zero safeguards to prevent stuff like this from happening so any random bot has absolutely free reign if it's started during the night in EU.

There should be like a certain threshold of reports after which a post or thread goes away or review.

That would be prone to abuse (as is any autoamted system working entirely only off of quantity).

Best solution would simply be a limit of threads created per day. 5 would work perfectly to stop spam like this.

EDIT:
Seems to be over. Looks like somebody paid for an hour of spam.

I think if the threshold was high enough it would get rid of all the extreme ones literally no one wants.

But I know what you mean.

STICKY: Spam/bot Report Thread is how we report such threads now. Staff will get around to reports... eventually, some time during Polish business hours.

That would be so much worse than the downvote option, which was removed due to abuse.

No, no, you want Abu Dhabi escort girls, I'm sure :P. Jokes aside, with spam of this magnitude it boils down to automated defenses, not something you rely on users to report. I am surprised GOG does not automagically ban anyone who creates more than 2 forum threads per minute...

I don't think I'd ban but maybe a timeout on new posts

Not a bad idea, but I would lean towards and auto-lock on their posting privileges. That way if a genuine user makes a mistake then staff can unlock it again without accounts getting nuked.

That's what I really meant by "ban", to block their ability to post anything on the forum. Didn't mean it as a Duke Nukem of their accounts :P.
I do not miss the report as spam button. It limited freedom of speech.

A gog.com employee will get rid of those 1-800 phone number spam topics after a few minutes.
I'd rather not deal with seeing the spam in the first place. There are so many litmus tests that could be implemented to stop most spam from even occurring!
