I think it's worth checking GOG at least USA Monday (start of weekly sale) and USA Friday (more games added to weekly sale). Sometimes there are flash sales lasting a day or two, so even better would be finding time to check every day, but not everyone can of course.

We rarely know about sales beforehand because that'll stop people from buying games, instead waiting for the sale.
