I've recently been watching a few youtube shows about SEGA consoles and games and, coupling that with my recent visage of http://store.steampowered.com/app/418620/, an early access game that utterly rips off Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle, I began to think.
We've all noticed before how Virtua Fighter went on an indefinite hiatus after 5 Final Showdown in 2012, but SEGA had a few other fighting games as well, like Eternal Champions (that was killed so that they could focus on promoting Virtua Fighter), Fighting Vipers, Fighters Megamix and Virtual On, and they all seen to have been completely abandoned.
Which is a shame, in this day and age where most typically console games like fighting games are also coming to the PC. But I wonder if there's an official explanation on why SEGA has abandoned all their fighting franchises.
