How can something be "premium" without being Mature??
Well, other than that, even children games have some sort of killing. For many people, a game is problematic and off limits, if it contains "sex" or nudity. Also, this is the main feature that makes or breaks a game, at least in people's eyes (persecution, ban, etc).
Unfortunately, MANY things are considered (and labelled) as mature. Nasty language, violence against others with discrimination against MINORITIES (like the nonhuman pogrom in Witcher), suggestive themes (womanizing, heavy drinking etc), DRUGS (another major stinker for many people, like Skooma in Elder Scrolls, Fisstech in the Witcher etc), gory combat (decapitation, bloodbaths, chopping off limbs or fatalities in Mortal Kombat), amoral world in general (the Witcher seems to be a real pro in that) and this is simply only the BULK of it all, not even close EVERYTHING that can define one game as being M rated...
What really happened is that the ratings get stricter all the time. As well as the regional locks/bans/censorship enforced. Nothing changed but those things:
1) Most gamers grew up and need their dose of mature content
2) Most modern gamers don't want their kids to play games rated M, even though they themselves as kiddies were enjoying games like Mortal Kombat, Diablo and GTA just fine
3) Ratings are so overrated. A while back, they did not even exist, lol
4) Companies realized that many people, especially those able and willing to pay for entertainment (themselves), really are after M rated stuff; especially those who pay upfront, day 1, preorder and pay thusly more than the game is actually worth
5) Put away those with nudity and sex and you are good to go; you 'll find quite some triple As this way.
I cannot name or suggest specific ones... I personally missed most, if not all, triple A games, just because they had heavy DRM, were exclusives to clients i really hate and would never use (at least anymore, from now onwards) and were too large and risky as files to download without paying, so i missed them. Only Skyrim i tried out a bit, but it was a tangled mess of bugs and glitches and didn't bother progressing more than few time after the prologue.
