"The Program" by Suzanne Young.

There's an epidemic of suicidal tendencies between teenagers where one in three end themselves. The Program was concocted to forcibly remove them from their homes & "cure" them, but they return without their memories or previous personality, among other things.

Bought it for my sister & she loved it. She asked me to read it. So far, it's not my cup of tea, but the concept is interesting enough, the writing is competent, if not done well, &, for better or worse, it's a quick read. It's a thick 400 pages or so, though.

"Ancillary Justice" by Ann Leckie. As mentioned in this thread a couple years back, her use of gender terminology is a bit confusing though it may turn out to make perfect sense in light of the particular first-person narrating the story.

I had purchased the later "Ancillary Mercy" a couple years back and finally found this first book - and also "Ancillary Sword" on the same trip - so either I'll figure out the gender stuff or I'll be confused by it for 1,000-plus pages. ; )

I don’t really like the astroturfing of rubikon.news in this thread. I don’t think GOG should be a platform for advertising a dubious political blog, which supports RT, anti-vaxxers, AIDS deniers and other weird stuff.

You don't like Rubikon.news? Fine, that's okay. But don't use Psiram (aka EsoWatch) - a website for calumny by anonym person - as reliable source for your opinion.

Edit:
Oh, and just for your info: I neither belief in homeopathy, chemtrails, autism as by-effect of vaccines nor do I deny AIDS.
And RT has the same raison d'être as Deutsche Welle.
