clicked "Post my message" umpteen times, and after waiting for at least 45 minutes, post still doesn't upload and register on the forums !! Vexed





Bloody hell, received this msg when i attempt to edit this post "You cannot post any links at this moment"
why?
and this message didn't show when I attempted to post a new topic

You need 5 or 10 (can't quite recall, sorry) Reputation to be able to post links. Supposed to prevent spam, but really just a nuisance.

Probably triggering one of the security features. Without seeing the content, it';s hard to tell. Maybe post the content up on pastebin and post the url? Please do note I say url, not link.

Forum will silently discard any message which contains a link if you're a new user. No warning message or anything, the post button will just not work. Kind of idiotic if you ask me; I've had my fair share of frustration when I first tried to post a message to the forum and ran into this issue.

Happened to me once. I was unable to post a single message in 4-5 hours. I would click on "Post my message", but the pop-up window stayed open and all I got was the words that display when the message is being sent, which is usually for a second or two. My message contained no links, only normal text. The issue resolved itself after several hours.

Yes, your problem that you experienced is exactly what I encountered.
I resolved the problem after i discovered that I cannot post a link. I discovered when i attempted to edit this post which got through and registered on the forums.

Good to know this probem has been encountered by several people before, and all have resolved.

When people positively rate (aka pressing +) on your post, you'll slowly gain rep :-)

I forgot if it was 5 or 10 until you can post. Just participate in the forums and you'll reach it easily.
