Hi - thanks in advance for any advice, I've tried searching for this problem but can't seem to find any answers.

I've recently re-installed the GOG Galaxy and any game I try to install pops up this (attached) window which never progresses.

Any ideas?

Thankfully, the galaxy client is not needed to access your games. The best thing you can do, is uninstall it.

Use the normal game installers from your account here:
https://www.gog.com/en/account

Scroll down, past the blue galaxy client banner.
