HypersomniacLive: You just need to look at it this way - don't think of the new games as a remake/ re-imagining/ re-whatever of the originals, then you could enjoy them. :-)
A wise approach. Are the games in fact good? Have you played them yet?

Thanks! Some folks seem to concur with you on that one. I assume I can play the second without being familiar with the events of the first?

You are correct, there are some references about the first campaign (at the start of the second campaign if i remember well), but those have zero impact on the storyline of the second campaign :)

well it's not like playing baldur's gate 2 without playing the 1st before :P

To quote myself from a line I spoke in a Gauntlet remake, "HERE COMES THE HURT!"

I have only played the first campaign so far, though I have Dragonfall. I enjoyed it immensely. I'm not familiar with the Shadowrun p&p rpg, however, our experiences could be similar. My rpg exposure to the genre was only via Cyberpunk 2020, which is a bit different but with similarities. If the computer iteration is far off from the original, you may still enjoy it a bunch. Like I did, despite the obvious superiority of Mike Pondsmith's world. ;)

EDIT: I like how it shows off my town, so I'm going to keep on linking this thing until GOG makes me stop. :)

Any news on the 1.5.2 patch for SotS The Pit?
Also, any news on patch 1.08 for Omerta: City of Gangsters?

...

sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

Actually, yes :)

GOG support is working on fixing the bug with the credit rolls after every mission themselves (so not actually an official update 1.08 from Kalypso). I could test an early version of the update and it did work for me. Once some more internal testing is completed, the update should be released.

Yeah, I knew that, I went through the game's forums just yesterday. ;)

Since the Japanese Incentive DLC fixes that bug it's not as critical as the other bugs in 1.07 in my opinion. Still, I'm loosing hope on ever seeing the official 1.08 patch here, Kalypso has really messed this one up big time. It's not even difficult to fix apparently, if you consider this.

If you bought the base game for 20$ (I got the game for free, but it's still sold at this price point right now) and then can only complete a single mission before the credits roll, you would find the fix rather critical.

Buying a DLC for another 15$ just to fix this bug is not really an option in my opinion.

But, yes, it's a pity Kalypso seems to have abandoned a game they're still selling. They won't receive any future money from me, that's a certainty.

Yeah, I got it for free too. I see what you mean, but even if you fix this bug you can't finish the game because of the other ones. So I won't be starting it either way. With the DLC at least you have a campaign you can play to the end... then again, Kalypso doesn't deserve our money after all this...

What is worse is that this is not the only developer with this attitude. Luftrausers has a similar problem with a game breaking bug (or so I heard), and Slender: The Arrival is still waiting for patches and updates that have been on Steam for ages (again, so I heard).
