We have been asked to address and express the group's stance on one of the new features introduced by steamgifts v2 called Blacklist

From the SteamGifts FAQ
How does a blacklist work?

"On user profiles, you'll see a button that has a circle icon with a slash through it. Clicking this button will add the user to your blacklist. This means the user will no longer see your giveaways on the homepage, and they will not be able to view or enter your giveaways from this point forward. If the user entered one of your giveaways prior to being blacklisted, their entry still remains valid."

We have been discussing this feature since a long time before it was introduced because it has a lot of potential issues that will affect the group.
Here is what has been decided in our group regarding this

1) Members of the group are free to block anyone they wish to not enter their giveaways, however i urge the members to use the blacklist feature to block fellow members only if its a serious issue , blocking fellow members will cause a break of harmony and trust among members that the group has had for so long and members will be subject to attacks over excluding someone.

2) There will be no calling out of names , attacking and crappy hidden hints that a particular giveaway made is blocking someone in the giveaway threads. This will be dealt seriously not limited to removal of the member or warnings.

3) If a member finds out that someone else has blocked them in their giveaways you are to deal with it outside the group, Contact the member via pm try to resolve it out.
We also request members to pm any of the mods if they are blacklisting a member along with the reason so that we are aware of it.

4) Blacklist is a personal difference between two members , it is something that group cant interfere with however calling out names in public forum , harassing/abusing the gifter over it is not allowed . If anyone comes across this they are free to report the issue to the mods of the group.

Completely forgot to mention about our stance on another two new features steam gifts v2 has that is multi-group giveaways

1) you are free to do multigroup giveaways including other groups
2) These giveaways will not count towards your contribution count for the giveaway specially when checks are performed for Rule 10 & 11 mentioned here http://steamcommunity.com//groups/GOGGIFT
3) Group rules will not be valid and checked for in such giveaways since it will have entries from people not in the group.

Why not add it as a post in the Steam Group page? It's way too important to not post there (if it's not already there).

As i mentioned in the post steam group page profile description word limit has been exceeded nothing more can be added to it . i have sent out a announcement regarding it so it will be in the group announcements

That is the group stance over this new blacklist , however my personal request is please be reasonable before you decide to block another group member , This is one of the worst rule that no group wanted to have in steamgifts v2.

We simply will cease to exist as the awesome gift club that has been so long and active over the years if everyone starts to block each other out over the smallest reasons.
The only reason why this group has come along for so long is integrity and trust among the members, we will fall apart due to blacklisting each other over the simplest reasons.

Do make note that the group rules has been updated so many times just to keep out people that don't fit it are kept out. It always has been the best filter for the group , we might add more or make it easier on the members. The main objective of this group has always been trying to make sure that all members have a fair chance of entering a giveaway and winning it and the gifters who make the generous giveaways are happy to do more. There is already higher levels of cv that you can use to filter out , Blacklist must be used only if there is a serious issue. Do try to work out your differences or let us know if we can do something about it.

The other groups are just blindly forcing the members of the group not to blacklist anyone in the group, we here in gog don't believe forcing such a thing is fair.

Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure

Tesla Effect is a first person adventure game with FMV cutscenes and old school sensibilities. Expect a lot of puzzles, goofy humour and running back and forth for items and dialogue options that you might have missed. It's basically what the next game in the series would have looked like if they had the modern capabilities back in the day.

Edit: oh and just in case, it's not a key that the developers gave to the backers. It's from a Humble Bundle. I redeemed the developer key for myself long ago.

Thanks for all the giveaways , we are still sorting out how the group should tackle the newer sgv2 changes a alert member brought my attention to another new feature of sgv2 called whitelist .

If i am assuming right , if a gifter has whitelisted a friend of his then the whitelisted person can enter any of his giveaways including the group giveaways ?

This will break group exclusivity of the giveaways and falls into mutli group giveaways type where a non member can enter the giveaway without being a member.

so right now i am setting the same rules the group has for multi-group giveaway for whitelist as well. If anyone has a better knowledge of this whitelist do let me know in pm if possible.

Not automatically; Your whitelisted friends list are treated like a one separate Steam group. So the gifter still has to check his/her whitelist 'group' like you have to check the GOG.com Gift Club group to make a multi-group giveaway.
