If I'm reading this correctly, Valve is now allegedly giving to those who wish to publish mods on steam workshop the following options:
1) charge nothing
2) have the buyers pay what they feel is fair
3) charge a set amount

Wow. Just wow. This has to be low, even for him. He's clearly living in some other world, far away from reality. Guess I 'wasted' a year and a half of modding on, since it wasn't for money. Fucking greedy capitalists.

Valve was originally composed of Ex-Microsoft employees, so there could be a connection there.

Also never liked the looks of Newell. Always seemed to have "greedy beady eyes".

It's certainly a variation on the old Microsoft motto: "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish"- they've just changed it to "Embrace, Extend, Monetise".

No he's actually right with that one - which doesn't makes the answer he received any less true and it's a freaking good one.

But let's leave the torches and pitchforks at the door for a moment and take the Nexus as an example. They had a $250,000 infrastructure update they did over this and last year - how likely are you doing that with just running ads? Yet I remember in a recent discussion (which I can't find anymore for the sake of it) how someone gotten upset, feeling that they shoved their go-premium paid feature in his face.

Things are getting serious.People are starting to work on the positive rating Skyrim has on metacritic.
I wonder if they can turn every game that Bethesda has into a zero on metacritic.I would love to see that.
