So, I fugured I'll try to necro this thread, since the finale of the second season was just... wow. It's amazing how much better that show is at being Star Wars than pretty much anything since the original trilogy. If it wasn't for the filler episodes it would be pretty much perfect. This two-part finale left The Force Awakens in the dust. And not just in terms of story, writing and characters, but even soundtrack and direction. That final "epilogue montage" had better cinematography and music than The Force Awakens even attempted. Even though the show relied heavily now on elements I was not keen on in Clone Wars (Ashoka, Darth Maul being still alive after Episode I), it managed to use those to make something truly great. I can't wait for season 3, and I just hope it will focus on a story arc more, and "mission of the week" episodes less.

I died inside. It was so sad.
Have yet to see the season finale (worked prevented that). But dammit, loved the season.
Oh, and I forgot- for all the KotOR fans out there, welcome back to Malachor!

Nothing will be as Star Wars-ish then the Old Expanded Universe, Especially the consdering the Original Trlogy:

Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games
X-Wing/Tie Fighter games.
Rogue Squadron games.
And what ever good Comic Books that takes place in the Original Trilogy era.

And finally saw that season finale....If only the movie would have offered the kind of enjoyment i felt watching Rebels...I got at the end a Kyle Katarn vibe from Ezra. Wouldn't be surprised if he would become one of the select few Jedis that could draw power from the both sides of the Force.

There's a theory making rounds that Ezra is Snoke. I don't buy it, but it's interesting. The one thing that would make sense about it, is that it's pretty much that, or having him die pretty soon. He can't be still around with the rebels by the time of Episode IV.

Anyway, yes, I do wish this could have been the movie. How awesome this would all be on the big screen, the giant temple, those final shots of Vader and Ezra...
Being established by Disney that Rebels happens in an alternate universe than the movies, i think that everything goes and would be foolsih to think that they will tie things in any way with Force Awakens. Hell, i wouldn't be surprised to see Ezra on Luke's side or something of sorts. After all, Ahsoka escaped the purge, despite the fact that the second trilogy stated that no Jedi survived (and despite the fact that there was Yoda and Obi-Wan in the original trilogy). To be honest, the Expanded Universe always allowed such things to be possible and that was its strength.

What? Where did you get that from? As far as I know Rebels is supposed to be 100% canon with the movies. Wookiepedia labels all the info from the show (and the show itself) as canon.

Let me get this straight:
There's a Star Wars TV series now?

There's been "a" Star Wars TV series for years. First Clone Wars, than... other Clone Wars, now Rebels.
