Given the sale is on I have to ask. Last time I bought a game and needed help, I couldn't get past the bot. It kept asking for the name of the game but wouldn't recognize it when I put it in. I tried typing it, copy pasting from the page itself, and nothing worked. So I could not get support. Have they fixed this? I find it hard to fathom how they can use a support bot can be so stupid it doesn't recognize the name of a game I had literally just bought and had been on this site for years.

I'm kind of afraid to buy the last few I need because of this.

There is no meaningful support. from GoG. The bot was created to dissuade you from seeking support.

Best to ask for help in the Star Wars game forums.
You can get past this initial phase of the bot asking all those questions straight to the creation of a support ticket rather easily:

1) Compose whatever you want the ticket to say pertaining to your issue in the text editor or wordpad
2) Copy everything
3) And paste it into the bot chat window
4) It's going to suggest a few things, always continue with the "Nothing of the suggested is of any help" option
5) Enter your email address when it's asking for it
6) Paste your text again
7) It's going to confirm that a support ticket has been created

Apparently it's also possible to skip the bot altogether by using a user style.

Personally I always check the GoG subforums, pcgamingwiki.com and other such places first for a solution before resorting to contacting support (which is rather rare anyway because searching the subforums usually brings up something) but that's just me and obviously depends on the game and the issue in question as well.

As long as you try out the games immediately after purchase, there's no real risk involved. Wallet refunds are typically processed within 24 hours. Non-wallet refunds are as slow as regular support tickets, but they go through eventually.

Easily, yea sure. Not everyone lives on these forums. OP represents maybe 2% of the customers that are annoyed/dissuaded by the chatbot that actually takes the time to inquire further. The rest leave this site and never return.

Proving that gog doesn't pander to their hardcore base since they listen to nothing, but also push away new/casual customer base.

To the OP. If the game doesn't work out of the box, which is likely since most older games have scaling issues, just go to your orders page and click the Ask for refund. If you want it within 24 hours it has to go to your wallet. If you want it back to original payment source it'll take forever.

What games do you want to buy? You can always try to contact a blue for help or ask here to see if somebody got the same problem and can help you, and if nothing of that helps, then you can refound the game.
