Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Fesin: 100x Magrunner with only 50% off? That could take a while.
Faster than expected
bathroom time?

Elmofongo: I expected the Duke Nukem 3D sale would go fast.

nijuu: Its been on GOG for a while. Most probably have it from here or ...the competition
Somebody can actually compete with gog? Impossible. ;)

mkell_226: It's because there are hundreds, if not thousands, of people with their eyes glued to the counter, waiting to click and shout "FIRST!!" the moment the new button appears. That tends to make 24 free copies of a game disappear rather quickly.
Well, keep in mind that the page would have to load for just as many for the paid ones... As how are they going to see when the free one is up if they're NOT also watching each paid one appear? I should note that I was just as instantaneous to click on "Theme Hospital" when it appeared for $1.49, yet I had no such delay.

Also, if there were only even single-digit thousands, I'd be shocked if there were 24 among them with faster fingers AND Internet connections (or lower ping, whatever) than I have. And it'd be a rather sad web server that would take 10+ seconds to handle even just a few hundred (at most) queries.
Only 50%? That's... underwhelming.
It's still disappearing quite fast, so I guess they might as well sneak in a 100%-priced game with, say, 15 copies, and there would still be people willing to snatch it immediately ;P.
Magrunner not a very good deal, been this price a lot, but I bought one, pay a bit more for what looks like a good game.

I don't know it. It looks somewhat similar to portal? just..without portals^^
Just got an email from support, they resolved my one problematic transaction and fixed everything. So now, I can go back to compulsively watching large numbers turn into small ones, fingers crossed for more items from my wishlist to hit so I can snatch them up as well.
Even with Atlas bear occasionally giving me the finger today, GOG still kicks all kinds of ass.
Magrunner looks interesting, but it will probably be at least 50% off during the holiday sale so I can wait.
Some of these re-runs are selling quicker now than the first time around.
I believe people are using scripts/bots to snag the free games too. There is a certain URL that is refreshed every 2000ms (2 seconds) that the web server should give a 403 error to anyone trying to hit it faster than that.
Get on it GOG fix your server so people can't exploit you like this and cheat us humans who manually click on one of your promos!
Wow... every game is being sold so quickly... When does this craziness end?
30 copies sold while I was taking a leak.
Hopefully 500 copies of Jack Keape or whatever it's called is next, I missed out on that last time it was so fast.

It was also given away free to everyone last Christmas.
