Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Man, GOG did their work. Just went and counted and I have purchased 12 games and am looking for more. I didn't expect that LOL.

bew1977: Tab Shots:
1 shot for every non GoG tab you have open.
2 shots for every GoG tab you have open beyond this topic
LOL! I'd be so dead. I currently have 401 tabs open and 17 of them are GOG. ^_^
Typical, I put Theme Hospital in the cart and got it at full price of $5.99 this morning before I went to bed.. since the current game was about to run out and I thought it would be next. So I wake up, boot up the site and bam - Theme Hospital $1.49.

Feel like I should ask for that $4.50 difference back lol.

Ah well :3

Schemilix: I find some of the comments he made to just be plain old unnecessary though. Slagging off people who post pictures of what they make in Minecraft for example. It just reeks of jealousy, pettiness and 'you can't have fun unless I say so!' mentality.

Mental health issues (depression in particular) don't excuse being a total arse in a public forum. I have a right to say that.
Oh I wasn't disagreeing. :) I totally agree with you completely. His behaviour was unacceptable from what I saw, I was just giving my thoughts as to why but certainly not justifying the behaviour. :) There is indeed no excuse for that, and it can only harm the relationship with the community and anything that does that is not good for business.

I just read about the game "War Z" today similar negative community interaction with the developers until their game got yanked from steam for giving false information to customers and then telling customers they misinterpreted it. I had a chuckle about it. :) That game returned to Steam after changing its name but I've earmarked it to avoid. Bad PR is bad PR which is something to steer away from if one is looking for good experiences. :)

I'd like to try out Fez sometime but will wait for a giveaway or similar as I don't want to directly support a company or developer who is like that either. ;)

I got it as a side-effect of a Humble Bundle. 'Fame' doesn't agree with everyone, no.
That's my cue to hit the sack...

Sigh... 300 copies of a ~5 dollar game. Regardless of game quality, this is going to take a while, isn't it? :(

That alone would be enough to send me to the hospital for life.
