Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

very nice, will def buy some games here :)
Clicked on free game, got 500 Internal Server Error, not even the bear wants to see me and my failspeed at clicking the button heh.

Giltonnam: I've given up on this sale now :/ by the time I click buy and it loads the deal is over (and har har about the freebies, they stopped popping up on my screen altogether, damn bots).

jhkrischel: Yeah, I've had the same result - at this point, the 5 seconds it takes me to put in my payment info is apparently too long. They should've worked out some sort of queuing system so that once you click, you've got a reservation for that deal, that only gets revoked if you don't finish the payment screen in say, 5 minutes.
That's strange. When I saved Retro City Rampage in a new tab I was able to purchase the game at its discount, that was after the counter on the main page moved onto another game.
F**k!!!!!!!!! Server problems during Baldur's Gate 2!

A second round?

In the spirit of Black Friday in the US....
Woo! Got me some Geneforge.
I'm still a little angry about missing Conquistador, but otherwise I'm good. Bought 3 games so far.
Geneforge saga for free! Bear>error 500>Bear>error 500>Bear>error 500>sorry all gone. Blast it! :P Ah well, have em all from Spiderweb anyways. :D

Ah, MM1-6, by far the coolest thing so far. :-]

peixoto: It really annoys me, looks more like countdown than people actually buying the games....
If you observe how each game is sold, in beginning it don't count down because people are clicking on buy, filling out payment information. Then once the first game is sold, it starts picking up speed then runs out quickly. This is obviously not a bot behavior.
Nevermind, just got an email to say that I got it! I guess 500 Internal Server Error is better than a bear, go figure!
I kept mashing that reload button... no Geneforge, only 500 :|.

sunshinecorp: I liked this sale but it has caused great suffering: people bought Omerta and Lucius...
Apparently Omerta is a pretty good game.
People on GOG just seem to hate it because of the whole DLC thing, I imagine.
Saw a review of it from totalbiscuit. Looked all right to me.

dedoporno: I paid for it and I didn't get it. Got the bear instead. Nice going GOG, this is getting frustrating. I don't give a damn about the freebies, but when I pay for the game I expect to have it in my library afterwards.

HypersomniacLive: I'm pretty sure though that the game is in your game library and that GOG sent you the confirmation email.
It took a while and after some overload screens it appeared in the library.
Wow, even the forums crashed for me with those last couple of offers :)

Y'know, as mad and crazy as this sale thing has been, I've kinda had fun following this thread and seeing a lot of first-time posters here. Jourmey rather than the destination, sorta thing......
