Dating sims / visual novels are a genre I'm unfamiliar with. Which ones deserve to be here?

Black Closet is interesting; It's from the maker of Long Live the Queen.
Loren Amazon Princess. Personally, I prefer dating sims with gameplay or some sort of strategy beyond "make a choice", which technically make them something more than a visual novel. Clickfests are just no fun for me.
Plumbers Don't Wear Ties
Solo Meat Slaptacular Summer.
Billy Mays Adventures.
Vote that shiz up. http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games
Bible Black, clearly.

This looks interesting and thanks for introducing me to the visual novel section on steam! I already have Long Live the Queen but I'm look for more similar games like that..... and now I found them.

A fair number has been receiving official translations in recent years, along with various western indie studios trying their hand. My pick:

A: The Fruit of Grisaia Trilogy, along with the Magical Girl Michiru spinoffs.
B: Muv-Luv series.
C: Corpse Party series.
D: Stein's Gate
E: World End Economica
F: Clannad
G: Ever 17
H: Planetarian

There's a Clannad game?! Shit that series made me cry.....

Edit- If any one decides to watch that anime from the beginning, please note that the first season is very cheesy but adds to the last season so just power through....

The sims tend to have gameplay mechanics, such as building up your character's skills in order to woo ladyfolk. Visual Novels are much more focused on writing, due to eschewing mechanics.

If I remember rightly, Sekai Project did a Kickstarter awhile back to translate Clannad. In any case, I expect that the game would be superior to the anime. VNs tend to have a lot more time to let the atmosphere and characters develop, since writing is less expensive than moving pictures.

aren't dating sims a bit weird and creepy? After all we have the local pub and actual woman... they are also in high definition.
