Hello, I'd like to clarify a few things here:
The account in question has repeatedly violated our Code of Conduct over the years, showing no signs of improvement in behavior on the Forum. After multiple temporary suspensions, I ultimately decided to suspend the account permanently.
This was followed by the creation of dozens of alternate, ban-evading accounts, which themselves violated the Code of Conduct—not only due to the ban-evading nature, but also because of the content posted through them.
These alt accounts were suspended as well, while I reached out to the owner of the original account, asking them to stop this behavior. Despite repeated requests, the behavior continued.
I then issued a final warning, clearly stating that any further attempts to evade the ban would result in a temporary lock on the main account (initially for one week, with any continued evasion resulting in longer lockouts).
Unfortunately, this warning was ignored, and the behavior persisted. At first, I chose not to enforce the lock, as locking an account is always a last resort. Instead, I issued another plea to stop the ban evasion—but this too went unheeded.
As a result, I had no choice but to follow through on the previously stated consequences and lock access to the account for one week.
My action was based on Point 11.2 of our User Agreement, which states:
"In addition to the above, below is the list of additional terms that apply to you when using GOG services. We do not want to repeat ourselves, but it is important to remember that if you fail to follow them, it will be a material breach of this Agreement, which could lead to a suspension or cancellation of your access to GOG services. Here is the list:
- GOG Code of Conduct
- Infringing Content and Copyright Policy"
