FlockeSchnee: It has tons of charm.
Exactly.
So many games try to have an "epic" story, but this one has a simple yet charming one that's 100 times better. Love those characters.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the CCG yet: Magic the Gathering from Microprose (1997). That game is difficult to come by today since it was never sold online. You'd have to find an old CD version on EBay or Amazon.

But this is probably the best CCG for PCs. It also has a very good campaign and it doesn't get any more classic than MtG.

I was always disappointed there weren't sequels to this.
I may have mistaken the topic a little.
have you tried slay the spire? or monster train? check them out
What about tainted grail: conquest?
It's likely not what you're looking for, but Evoland 1 + 2 have in-game collectible card games to play.
Edit: Failed to check posting dates, sigh.

Some necros are more tolerated by mods than others.
I'm here for recommendations too. Can you recommend to me some kind of card game? It shouldn't be challenging, but it should be interesting to play and exciting.

Card Hunter (tabletop RPG parody) : https://store.steampowered.com/app/293260/Card_Hunter/
Battleforge (hybrid CCG/RTS online game) : https://forum.skylords.eu/

Both are 100% free.
low rated
necro pls close
So anything recent people can recommend?

Not really, at least in DRM-free space. The original line of posts are still appropriate: Emulate Culdcept, or play deckbuilding games like Slay or Monster Train. Unfortunately companies jizz over ruining games with collection by RMTing, microtransactioning and multiplayering them.
