For some classic games to get up on GoG but damn
Freelancer has gotten +30045 votes still nothing
But what make me sad is Dark Colony + expansion pack has such little votes only +716 :(

But man I been hoping every year now to see them up on GoG way more than I want to see dark souls or warcraft 3
Agreed, add Starlancer to that.

Sadly it's up to right holders to agree or not to agree to sell their games here or anywhere else...
Yeah it's not just up to GOG. They have to be in an agreement with the Dev/publisher or whoever owns the rights to said game.

I completely agree although Freelancer = Microsoft and they sure love their DRM so much they've added multi-layered Steam CEG + Denuvo-style "Arxan" DRM to their "HD / Definitive" versions of 20 year old Age of Empires 1-2 games (that were formerly DRM-Free in the DVD-ROM Collectors Edition). It would be great if GOG could get them but some publishers just don't want to come here, and at this stage for pre 2005 games, you might as well just grab the discs off of EBay + NoCD it rather than wait another 20 years (by which time the same Microsoft would probably have 'evolved' Windows 10 (version 4009) enough that it probably won't even run by then anyway).

I was about to post a similar topic, I'm disappointed in the lack of classic games coming out on GOG lately. I guess that CDPR has run into too many hurdles in getting rights to these games and it's not worth the effort for them any more. So they are focusing on new games and indie titles to be more of a Steam competitor.
I think you're being a bit unfair... they practically "just" released Warcraft1+2 and Diablo, something I thought it would never happen! All the while working to make sure they'd run on modern machines, which is another concern for these type of good old games.
716 is actually not that low of a number. Gruntz has the same amount for example.

Z.A.R. + missions pack is a game I'd like to see here for example but it has only 79 votes spread across 3 entries. Now that is a low number.

I agree. But while I can understand a game from Microsoft or Valve or newer entries from EA/Ubisoft taking a veeeery long time to get here, I can't for the life of me understand why we're still waiting for Costume Quest 2. I mean, Double Fine has been releasing other games here, so why not it? Why do some publishers that do have a good relationship with Gog and see no problem with DRM-Free take their time with some of their games?

I honestly don't know. There are quite a lot of other "missing catalogue" discrepancies. Eg, we have games from Focus Home but not the popular Styx series (DRM-Free on Steam). We have We Happy Few by Compulsion Games but not their earlier (shorter but better) game Contrast. We have Heretic clones (Amid Evil, Ziggurat) but not actual Heretic (also DRM-Free on Steam for years...) At this point, how GOG's curation / acquisition policy works is anybody's guess. :-)

Agreed. Especially these missing games from publishers who are already here in some shape or form. It just seems completely random.

Too bad we will never know who or what is the reason those games are not here yet.

Damn it would be sweet if System Shock 2 was ever released on GOG! That would fulfill all my dreams, and then some.

And Thief! Definitely Thief! Does anyone remember that game? Hiding in shadows, approaching unsuspecting enemies from behind and SLAM! hitting them in the head with a club! Oh man oh man!

And Super Mario Bros! I still remember the game tune! TI-DIT-DIT-TI-DIT-DIT! TII, TII, TII, DI, DIT DI DIT DI, DIDIDDIDIDIDIDDIIID...

Pfft. All of these together can't hold a candle to the Ass-game. (Is this a thing outside .fi?)

For the Heretic games and similar, maybe they have a deal with Steam to only sell those games there for a certain period? Or maybe they just want to drive people to steam more? Who knows. :\

If you want to play some "Ass-game" Steam is selling plenty of those ;P
