kingthrall: i would get this but I do not like the idea of a second piece of software instead of having an add-on campaign to shadowrun returns with dragonfall. It seems like a waste of time for a few lousy graphic enhancements, they should of just overhauled what they could with shadowrun returns and kept it as that.

Also Hong Kong I have little to no interest in.
It seems like there are quite a few enhancements. Hence it not coming to tablets.
It might be that there are too many changes for it too work properly with the original if it was added as dlc.
The game has cracked the 550k stretch goal, so we're getting improve magic! =)

I think I'll be backing this game soo.

paladin181: Dragonfall's engine provided many new features over the SR:R engine. Will this new one do the same? If not then it seems like a wasted effort to me.
One of things that will be changed: The player would be allowed to position their characters before initiating combat. Useful, considering the number of situations in DMS and Dragonfall where proper preparation would have made things much easier.
Is there a chance GOG could get this version of Shadowrun?

That's definitely one thing that will be nice.

I'm sure it'll be much more than that too. The evolution of features, writing, quality from the release of DMS up to Dragonfall: Director's Cut is pretty incredible. The new missions in the Director's Cut being some of the most well written and designed i've ever encountered in any RPG, Glory's side mission in particular.

I just hope they don't bite off more than they can chew with all the extra features they want to add. Money can't buy time if they want to stick with an August release and quickly adding more people to a development isn't always a good thing.
Well, I got to play through both Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall first, but I won't say no to more cyberpunk. Can't wait for this and Cyberpunk 2077 after CDPR wraps up with the Witcher 3.

Quick character creation question, Will I be spreading myself thin statwise If I wanted to make a Phys. Adept with pistol skills and martial arts? I want to know if having two weapon skills is too exp demanding.

mushball: snip.
That would be a pretty demanding build as you'll be spread all over Strength, Quickness and Willpower. It's doable but you will be spread pretty thin and things may be hard unless you keep the difficulty low.

Dual weapon builds work best when both are in one governing stat, or two at worst. Because you have to raise your governing stat to raise your weapon skills, having even a decent melee with a good ranged weapon on the same character is pretty tough. But to build towards Phys adept skills in Willpower and pistol skills in Quickness, then adding in the unarmed will mean at least one of those will go unused due to being way too far behind the others, or your character will be pathetically weak in combat.

Best choice would be to take summoning (you need some charisma for casting anyhow) or elemental magic since you're already in the willpower tree as opposed to pistols. Atleast, IMO. Note, some of these details may be wrong as I haven't played shadowrun in FOREVER.

Thanks for the advice, I was planning on putting points into pistols as a way to soften or finish off opponents at a distance but magic has more options that makes getting up close easier so I will build towards that instead .
Actually I find it quite funny people backing this project up but (not the same people) bashing GTA5 preorders everywhere.

If it's not the same people, I don't see why it would raise an eyebrow.

I find it funny how people are incapable of seeing the basic difference between a preorder and a kickstarter.

It's all the same.

You pay for NOT a finished product. You aren't even able to play either.

Can you play Shadowrun on Steam now?

Can you play GTA now on Steam?

If the answer 'can't', then it's the same.

What's worse, in kickstarter it's just all promises. If if if and if fund raised.

Stop being a sheep.
