Preview at PC Gamer:

Using splines to make coasters instead of traditional piece by piece, not sure what to think. Got a couple of new screenshots in that preview. DOF is annoying as hell, not sure who thought it to be a good idea.
Well, i guess i'll be very forgiving with RCT World when it comes out. There's simply no way for it to be worse than RCT4M at least.

if it's a port of RCT4M without the microtransactions, it's gonna be pretty damn bad. My hunch is it looks like another Sim City in what it's promising-I just hope they go x64 to give us maps the size of the orginials otherwise it's gonna be a minipark in size (that's what the sections give me the vibe of)
New screenies look nice, thanks for the heads-up. I cannot wait since Themepark Studio is taking forever.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, already 10 years old but still the reference of its genre. I literally spent hundreds of hours with this game, a "once in a lifetime experience".

Assuming the worst from RCT4. A game like RCT is nowadays almost predestined for a lot of DLC.

* Wanna build a Rapid River ride? Then buy our "Water splash expansion pack" for just 9.99 $. It also includes tons of new water fountains and the ultimate 3 meters diving tower! Now available exclusive on Steam! *

Yea, this.
RCT4 has to allow for a full modding environment for it to stand up to RCT3, and it has alot going for it to stand up to RCT 1 & 2. Like you said, assuming the worst from RCT4, I doubt we will see something like this:

or

in the game. My expectations are very high for RCT since I love the franchise, so a single "no microtransaction" statement is not gonna cut it. I'll still remain pessimistic until I see more of it.

Now I hope someone gets the Oculus Rift to work with RCT3, that'll be a dream come true.

My dream would be a "RCT 4" with all features of RCT 3, a bit more realistic graphics and a better interface. But the trailer is not very promising.

I fear we will get the full package: Steam exclusivity, microtransactions, loads of DLCs.

Frontier (the developers of RCT 3) are currently working on "Coaster Park Tycoon" which was announced to be released in 2016. At least there will be 2 options for everybody waiting for a successor of RCT 3.

ChrisSZ: snip
Wait so Atari actually thought it would be a good idea to not have Frontier make the game? Good job, you just created a big competitor where there was none.
I just saw it on Humble Store... Steam only. =/
Added it to the GoG wishlist just now, nobody did that yet.

I also want to note that RollerCoaster Tycoon World isn't actually RCT4, which is the mobile game.
