We are the brave, the Valiant, and the strength of our brotherhood will see us to victory in our quest.

Embark on a journey of brotherhood and redemption in The Valiant, a squad-based RTS set in 13th Century Europe and the Middle East available now on GOG!

The game’s story follows Theoderich von Akenburg, a former crusader knight who, after becoming disillusioned with the cruelty of war, is called back into action by events set into motion 15 years ago when he and his former brother-in-arms stumbled upon a fractured piece of an ancient artifact - the Rod of Aaron. It is said that this item contains power never meant for mortals and finding the remaining pieces and unifying the rod could bring untold evil and suffering to the world - a despicable goal that Theoderich’s old friend is obsessed with achieving.

Command and level-up your medieval knights as you fight through an incredible single player campaign, and when you’re ready take your skills online in both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes.

Get The Valiant alongside its Soundtrack now and enjoy 10% launch discounts on both products that last until October 26th, 5 PM UTC.

This game came out nowhere for me. I'm sucker for medieval strategy games!
Looks cool and the story seem appealing ^^
I love RPG...just...too bad I dislike RTS xD
I wish you good luck anyway :)

Btw...what is that Multiplayer thing?
It's weird for a RPG...
But it's a nice bonus for those loving Multi.

It looks good. Came out of nowhere for me. I'm getting Myth the fallen lords vibes. Bit pricey to take a chance on so I will wait for the reviews. A demo would of been great.
Looks amazing, I'm certainly interested. :)
May I ask why the game is more than double the price on GOG (R$ 169.99 base price) compared to Steam (R$ 75.49) for my region (Brazil)?
No Achievements for the GOG version? (but the other version does have them).
No base building and only few units. Give me an army, worthy of Mordor.

Look up Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth. Not sure it's available to buy these days but it still holds up.
This game does indeed have a Versus AI option in the multiplayer menu. It consists of up to 4 players controlling up to 5 squads each, which are recruited and replenished by controlling the various points/buildings on the map for resources.
That's a plus, as I'm terrible at strategy games but I love them.

On a side note regarding THQ though. They still haven't fixed Spellforce 3 and its DLC not being recognised by the base game. The only way to remedy this is from a user in the game forum's suggestion.

Can you tell us if the game has a tactical pause button? I love strategy games in this vein, but as i get older, I really find I need/desire a pause button that allows me to view the battlefield, and issue orders before unpausing again. Brain is just getting to slow these days for all out RTS, lol.

Thanks, and best of luck with your new release here!

I hope they forgot to add regional pricing, because this game is just my cup of tea and I would buy it here if it where at Steam's price...

Hm, a bit of a weird one there. Would have expected it to be because you're getting the base price, no discount, but there actually is a discount, just that it's of only (?) 21.5% instead of 65% (!).

On a different note, somebody should probably remove that "Preliminary system requirements" notice? And decide whether those requirements (Win 10+) or those on the side (Win 7+) are the correct ones.

And on yet another note, wonder how the squad-based part works. A rare RTS game that I did well on, in fact pretty much the only one that I felt actually suited me, was Kohan 2, where you could decide which units form the squads and, very importantly, if at least one survived and got back to within a regeneration area, the entire squad could be revived.
This looks super interesting but here cost the double than Steam, it's a little bit price, specially now that in my country have to pay almost 100% of taxes for purchases on dollars :/
