The Last Door: Season 2 - Collector's Edition, continues the haunting tale of troubled men consumed by horrific secrets, and is now available DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac, and Linux, with GOG Galaxy support for Achievements.

What exactly happened to Jeremiah Devitt, the broken man who set out to find his old schoolmates, only to be drawn in a downward spiral of madness and ungodly nightmares? John Wakefield, the psychiatrist who was treating Jeremiah, has taken a special interest in the case and will venture down the nightmarish underbelly of Victorian England in a desperate attempt to learn the fate of his vanished patient.

Following in Devitt's footsteps, Wakefield will come across forbidden knowledge, people of questionable moral fiber and mental stability, as well as secrets not meant for human eyes. Otherworldly horrors, mind-bending puzzles, and twisted images will mark his adventure, which celebrates its strong H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe influences at every turn. But will you manage to stay sane long enough to take the final turn and learn what lies beneath the Last Door?

Question everything you see, hear, and learn, as well as your own sanity in this misguided attempt to locate The Last Door: Season 2 - Collector's Edition, DRM-free on GOG.com. This edition comes with a number of added extras, including the haunting OST, available in FLAC format.

CharlesGrey: Also, the fuck is this: "Four episodes and exclusive extras and bonus content in one limited-edition set"
A "limited edition" of a purely digital game release? What are they smoking?

MarkoH01: I never sumbled over this but you are absolutely correct. There is nothing limited in a digital release.

Also I respect if someone does not like this kind of low res pixel style but I can only repeat what has been said here already: try it for free on their web site and decide for yourself. I too was not that delighted when I first saw pictuires of TLD Seaon 1 but playing them really is something special and the graphics and sound effects are creating a very special atmosphere. If you don't like it then you would at least have tried it. There is not much to lose here.
Meh, I might pick it up in the future, at a decent discount, since I like Horror games and Lovecraft themed works. Still would have preferred a slightly more detailed/ higher res style, i.e. such as Clock Tower 1 on the SNES. The style of Last Door isn't even consistent, since they go for the hardcore retro look, and yet they randomly applied high-res/smooth shadows and light effects in some areas. Overall the style just isn't very appealing, even if it is otherwise a great Horror/Mystery game.
This series is just awesome. The atmosphere created by the excellent sound design, simple graphics, and good art direction is second to none. Instabuy.

Ack! Now I can't unsee the clash between hi res effects and pixel art! Lol!

Yeah, at least in the case of Last Door these inconsistencies seem to be fairly subtle and uncommon, judging by the screenshots. I've seen far worse offenders among so-called "retro" games.

Shovel Knight is a perfect example of how you do "retro" right, with zero compromises in its art direction and sound design.
I keep forgetting this series is called the Last Door. Saw the release and didn't pay attention, but the wrongs have been righted, and it now resides in my library where it belongs.
Before I played The Last Door, I used to HATE retro-looking games & pixel art with a passion.

I couldn't stand them & I thought they were stupid. Yet, for some reason, I ended up buying the game... it's one of the best games I ever played.

I can understand if the graphics aren't appealing to someone, I have that problem with Psychonauts myself. But anyone giving this game a pass just because it looks like something out of an Atari 2600, let me tell you, you're making a huge mistake.

Now, it's true this game isn't for everyone. The puzzles aren't that hard & you'll find it boring if you don't like adventure games. But if you do like horror and/or adventure games, give these games a try. It's well worth it.

I liked the first one so much, I bought it again straight from the developers. That means I already have the second season, yet I' struggling *not* to buy it full price right now.

Hell, the soundtrack alone is worth the 9 euros. It might actually be the biggest reason I loved the game. It's just amazing, I often listen to it without playing the game. And I don't usually listen to a game's soundtrack on its own, no matter how good it is. Not even Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale or The Lord of the Rings Online. Yet I find myself craving for Carlos Viola's sweet notes.

Again, if you like adventure games, horror and music, get both Last Door games.
That picture reminds me the Pinwheel boss from Dark Souls ^_^
More low res pixel goodness. Great!
