Just seen it in popping up in the orders history. Nice that it comes for free, but would have preferred a more ambitious, non-free remaster...
Nice to have a remaster for free but they need to add those extra levels back in.
Thanks a bunch, GoG.
Saw this game in an ad years ago but never actually bought it. Might have to now.

eiii: Luckily I already own that compilation, so thanks for the free upgrade! I'm not sure if the remastered version really is an improvement, reading some of the reviews. Removing levels is not a good idea, the remastered version has no extras (not even a manual?) and the system requirements are much higher now. But the worst part of the upgrade is the new regional price, more than 30% above the US price. That's very annoying and I for sure would not buy the game anymore when I would not own it!
same here ... i bought the game when i joined GOG in 2014 ....

The system req. are higher now ? i hope my old GTX 750 ti 2 gb can handle it :D

Maybe it will get a 3rd perspective version one day , like Baldurs Gate 3 , with lifelike characters in 4K and up and a pricetag matching the improvements ( maybe 50 eur or more ?)

Anyway... with all the HD versions and remakes in 4k and up it will be extremely unlikely classic age of empires games
( drm except the first one M$ claims it is 'drm' free')
, command & conquer ( drm) and many other games will be releaded DRM free some day.

VBProject: Not thanks

- Demaster is based on console version with missing content.
- Original games removed from sale and you have to buy more expensive useless demaster to get them.
yup... i read it ... but i'm getting used to it, in fact i already got used to it :D

Anyway like i said before in other topics i have so many games i still haven't played * 3K games or more) that includes 1000 + classic games ( digital and retail on cd/dvd) 2000 or more casual games ................. :D

My current i7 9700k will be able to play 90% of all games ( Windows 10 permitting ofcourse) i own ... but everything changes nothing we can do about

When i first joined i only had 1000 retail games or so: 60 classics ( AAA) and the rest are digital casual games), so i bought many games in the first 2-3 years here, at steam and gamersgate.

Today i buy 1 to max 5 games ( on sale) per quarter, thats around maybe 12 games in one year instead of 12 per month . :D

Just a FYI: It seems the missing levels from the PC version were added back into the game.

True, but the tutorial levels are still missing. Not that it is overly important for somebody that hasn't played the original, but the oversimplified way of delivering it in the remaster is just lacking imagination. Cheers
