Death becomes you.

NECROPOLIS, a merciless action/roguelite where death is its own reward, is available now for single-player gameplay on Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Who doesn't enjoy a spectacular, brutal, educational death? Especially if it's permanent, which means all your hard-earned or crafted gear, your elixirs, and any trust you had in your friends now lie shattered on the floor of an accursed, constantly-shifting dungeon.
But it also means that you get to start fresh, armed with more knowledge, better-honed skills, new tools, and unlockable abilities. So you've got no excuse if you die again. And again. And again. And one time after that. Then two more. Yes that's it, you're getting the hang of this now.

The GOG.com release currently supports single-player mode and offline functionality on Windows. OS X support, as well as GOG Galaxy support for achievements & multiplayer is coming in the near future. Stay tuned for updates from GOG.com and Harebrained Schemes.

Chacranajxy: I'll wait for some impressions, but I'm cautiously optimistic. It looks cool, though, and Harebrained has a solid track record.
Just fired it up while I am here and it's definitely got my attention :D I just got blasted by a laser to the back and I didn't even manage to get out of the first level yet. Very dark and moody in a way.

I am playing with a mouse & keyboard because I am too lazy to walk over and grab a controller from QA but it plays rather well as far as combat goes :) The only thing I can't find (yet) is the ability to lock on to an enemy but I think it's there but I am just too busy trying to explore to look atm :D

Also, enemies actually drop their weapons/shields and you can pick them up and use them!
And no, I don't mean in the Dark Souls sense where you might get a weapon that an enemy has, no, I mean you see a guy with a cool looking sword, kill him and he drops his sword on death and by drops, I mean it falls out of his hand.

So it's crippled while the Steam version is complete?

Also why isn't the soundtrack available at release??

About: Pre-purchase NECROPOLIS and you'll also receive a copy of the NECROPOLIS Original Soundtrack when the game is released! A sample of the score from composer Jon Everist is available here.

MESSAGE FROM GOG.COM
The pre-order bonus soundtrack for Necropolis will be available for qualified purchasers soon.

I really should stop pre-ordering... ><
The soundtrack will be here, there was a technical issue that came up at the last minute that prevented us from getting you the soundtrack right at release time. You will get it as soon as that is done, which hopefully won't be long :)
