Islands of the Caliph will transport you to a world of ancient maritime culture steeped in Middle Eastern folklore and Islamic spiritual heritage. This action RPG draws inspiration from revered classics such as Might & Magic, Questron, and Alternate Reality. Embracing elements like grid-based movement, it seamlessly blends them with real-time combat, offering a dynamic hybrid gameplay experience that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.

Keyboard only... as a feature. I'll grant that's an interesting decision. Of all the limitations of old games, no mouselook isn't one that was particularly appealing to me. I'll keep an eye on this though.

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/islands_of_the_caliph can be marked complete now.
Well, this one looks really nice. I'll put it on my wishlist for now :)
A very nice game, I own it on Steam. I haven't finished it as of yet though because after many hours of playing the game a big patch arrived and would have forced me to restart the game as my saves wouldn't work. This happened the second time unfortunately which is quite a bummer for me. As the game isn't in Early Access anymore things like this shouldn't happen. I won't play the game for about a year or so when hopefully there won't be any patches that make my savegames useless. Yes, I could have continued with the outdated version of the game but who wants to do this?
Looks amazing!

Was waiting for this to appear here, thanks dev and GOG!

Because GoG currently has download issues with their servers. So they didn't release the Demo on GoG yet because it would have been at the current moment useless having only the Demo Page Online but no chance to download it at all.

No clue how long their issues will hold on but my guess is that over the Weekend nothing will be fixed at all.
The pixel graphic looks nice, even if the sprites seem a bit cartoony.

I was in the exact same situation but I had to reset my whole progress on steam because could't continue even with outdated version. I plan to get it on gog because the game is really great but also will wait until there are no major patches.

Nothing wrong with "KB only".
The "hunger-mechanism", that I think, I see on some of the screens, however...that's more of a nuisance, than a much revered "classical vibe of the 80s", for me.

I kinda like the graphics style, though I don't really like the inconsistency...the environments look almost voxel-like (especially in the video), but then the 2-dimensional sprites and environmental elements interfere with that good look.

I really love that they ask us to try the demo first, to see, whether this game is something for us.
Of course, it would have been even nicer, if the demo would be available here on GOG, instead of only on the other store.
Interesting, on the wishlist it goes....
Looks really cool!
