Yeah... The catalog still sucked, but it sucked slightly less with even that little bit of organization in there.

Are they going to port the rest of the missing DD1 stuff over to GOG though?

iirc it launched in a rough state and it took a year of patching to polish it up, so you're only getting a better experience by playing it now

As far as I can remember there was a miscalculation in one of the Hamlet buildings (more resources needed to upgrade) or something like that. Also the new content like The Butcher's Circus is missing in GOG-version.

The only thing I am aware of that is missing in the GoG version is the Butcher's Circus which is a multiplayer mode where you equip your teams of characters from the game with different items and they battle each other.

Those are mods. It's up to the mod makers if they want to make those available outside of Steam. None of those are official content for DD.
