Prepare yourself for a new look at narrative adventure games. The Council from the Focus Home Interactive is now available on GOG.COM DRM-free. It’s a game in which every our decision counts and every character changes as the story unfolds. Until 3 December, 2 pm UTC, you can buy The Council with a 66% discount.

The Council gives us a chance to attend a meeting of a secret society in the year 1793. On the small island off the shores of England, famous historical figures like Napoleon Bonaparte and George Washington are present. Intrigues and secrets run high, yet our main character has more pressing matters to attend – his mother recently went missing on the same island.

Love focus for keeping GoG well stocked, that said, this is going to be wishlisted up until all 5 seasons are released! And yes, please bring the styx series over as I need to de-steam them!

Just a quick question as the wording on the store page seems ambiguous - is the game on sale now the Complete Season of 5 episodes or are the other 4 coming at a later date?

Looks quite intriguing, and from what I've read it's supposed to be quite good, too.

I kind of get the feeling that GOG reducing their percentage take may have had something to do with Focus releasing all these games here again.

All the episodes were released last year. I don't know why it's so hard to get an answer here, but there it is. Another game I would have waited for, but I have it on Steam now.

Nearly missed this. Watched the banner and thought it would be some kind of strategy game. Luckily enough GOG mentioned that it is a narrative game in a tweet so I decided to check out the trailers and after reading here that all episodes are already availabe and included, I just bought it :)

Thank you GOG and thank you once again Focus.

This is a good, though flawed game. It has some VN elements (long dialogue sequences, etc.), but it's not a Telltale-style non-game - there are plenty of long sections of exploration and puzzle-solving, and your stat choices really do affect what actions you can take. Also your choices have a real effect in-game, with some sequences playing out differently and several very diverse endings. Some of the puzzles are poorly clued, and the story kind of goes off the rails towards the end, but I stlil had fun with it overall. Too bad I already traded for a Steam copy; if I'd known it was coming to GOG in the near future, I might have waited.

I was hoping for this game to arrive here, although I have seen a review for it some time ago and forgot it´s name.

Really would love to see both Styx games here, that would be instabuys as well :)

Never heard of this game before. Watched the Rethinking Narrative Adventure video and I am intrigued. Love the art style, the music (no ost available?), the complex story and all that scheming! Great deal too. Instabuy for me! ;)

WhackMAll: Normally I only buy older games at a BIG discount.
The final episode was released less than a year ago, that's not what I'd call old :-)
And for this age the discount is quite big! I'm glad I can finally buy it here.

It has far more to do with the departure of focus's CEO a year ago, and their recent situation (half of their partnered studios went to Big Ben Interactive, from cyanide to spider).
