GOG.com: Release: Monolith
I like what I see.
Looks interesting but I'm still afraid the story goes down the Returnal hole.
Turns out, I had this one wishlisted already. Hyped by it, still won't "day-one" it.
It seems that GOG has raised the price of the game. I purchased it just two hours ago for 12.49 Euros, and now it's listed at 14.79 Euros. Can you explain the reason for this increase, GOG team?
Two games with the same name ... is that even legal?

This adventure looks good however.

About the price change: Boooooo!

WIshlisted it for now.

Think Space Odyssey holds the rights.

it was 14.79 on steam from the start to match 15 usd, so just a random fuck-up here on somebody's part (gog or the publisher, whoever applied the previous eur equivalent of 15 usd). guess you and maybe a few others got a bigger launch discount than the usual pointless 10% that's not even offered here.
Syberia in space. Cool!
Love this studio, they produce only solid point'n'clicks, so this is an instabuy for me. I even got it with the lower price, so hurray!
Come in, dont just stand there!
Get out of here stalker!

....woops! lol

Have to admit, it makes you think the dudes in white are after you.

Most likely, yes.

The store page did not display any discount, and according to my order history, none was applied. The price already felt like a steal, so I didn't really mind.
I'd love to say a few words about this studio and this product:

Since I love their previous releasesI purchased Monolith on day 1. I also started it immediately (which is pretty rare for me) and was able to finish the game completely without a walkthrough because every single puzzle in it was logical - al least it seemed this way for me. The story also offers some interesting mysteries and characters and is of course a love letter to many sci-fi movies including 2001. Anyway, I experienced only a few translation issues (I played the game in German) and even fewer technichal bugs but I decided to contact the devs "animation arts" to give them some feedback. They told me that they are glad to hear I liked the game and they also said that they are quite new to GOG but were planning to update the game and fix all bugs they are aware of. They also apoligized that the achievements on GOG were not integrated into the game yet but they would fix these as well.

The game has now been updated already to version 1.05 (and received the promised optional achievements as well) and not a single time did we have to wait for the GOG version to get updated while the Steam version already got its update. These devs love GOG and they manage to treat GOGers really well ... they also created a game that shows its dedication in every detail and every puzzle so I can't recommend it high enough ... especially since imo the asking price is quite low.

Last but not least:
We now have the following games from animation arts here on GOG:
Secret Files 1-3
Secret Files: Sam Peters
Lost Horizon 1-2
Monolith

Which means that the only game missing here would be "Preston Sterling". Since the devs were so communicative I decided to ask them about this one as well and they replied that GOG rejected it. Now with the release of Monolith however they decided to apply again and they are hoping it will get accepted this time. Given the fact that we have ALL their games on GOG with the only exception of this one game I urge GOG to accept the game this time. I also ask every single one of the point and click GOGers here to vote for it on the wishlist

to make GOG see what we want. :)
