No Gods or Kings or DRM.

Update: Classic versions of Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are now available. If you already own Bioshock Remastered or Bioshock 2 Remastered, you can download classic versions directly from your GOG library.

BioShock™ and BioShock 2™ Remastered are finally available DRM-free.

The legendary shooters emerge from somewhere beyond the sea, dripping with that deliciously claustrophobic atmosphere of decay, corruption, and human ambition gone wrong.
Widely considered as the gold standard for story-driven shooters with light RPG elements, they have been remastered to feature higher resolution textures and models, director's commentary, and several other additions that ensure time will never wash them away.
Pump yourself full of plasmids, pump your enemies full of bullets, and dive right back into Rapture's beautifully rotten halls.

Why would one need these 'remasturd' versions? Over 15Gb of (very) slightly enhanced textures and - wow, my God! - jellyfish now floating around...

No way, GoG. Original versions or no money.
Yes I will kindly.......and with great pleasure buy these 2.

AB2012: Can you double check that Bioshock 2 definitely includes Minerva's Den, as there's no mention of it anywhere on the GOG page ("Protector Trials DLC" are completely different thing) and the Steam version has it as a separate product. Also, how long do you expect the originals to be added? Thanks.

JudasIscariot: Both DLCs are in there as our QA team has checked the game quite thoroughly.

I don't have any ETA on the originals atm but we're working with 2K to get those out as soon as possible.
Will the originals have the frame rate fixed?
Great News! I have both the originals and the remastered ones already on Steam, as well as a DRM free version of the first one from the humble store so I'm probably not going to buy them here any time soon (maybe we'll see them on GOG Connect some day?). But so good to see them here!

Waldschatten: Why do they always do this during a sale?

If this came out when there weren't a million deals going on it'd be an instabuy, but during a sale...

I'm kinda "meh" on buying games I already own multiple times when that $10 could go to getting games I haven't already played and beaten repeatedly.
Waldschatten, you never sent me a reply, if you didn't want a game you already own on another platform I could send you another game instead.
Another bunch of games I can uninstall and hide in steam, the list gets smaller every year :)

Thanks GOG, you are the bee's knees!

OK thanks! In that case, I second Mafwek's suggestion above to update the Bioshock 2 store page as a lot of people don't read these forums and you probably don't want 50000 support calls asking the same question. ;-)
Awesome relese :)
Haha, my refusal to buy them on Steam finally pays off.

Wouldn't boast until we know both versions actually work properly. The original copies were never patched to fix a very noticeable issue and the remasters were always a bit iffy. If they are fixed though, that's when we should be happy.

That's great, Minerva's Den is a fantastic DLC. Btw. at the moment there are no Galaxy achievements for Bioshock 1, probably a mistake?
Thanks for this surprise. It is simply amazing to have such an important IP on GOG.
Finally!
I have those on PC, PS3, X360 disks and Steam.
Now on GOG ;)
Technically nice to have them here, but the original games being gated behind "remastered" versions is a no-buy from me. I hate that practice by publishers so much (looking at you, Beamdog, Disney etc).

/edit: Interesting, who would have thought that these days GOG users support the anti-consumer practice of gating an original version behind a higher-priced, different (and for many people useless) one. For shame.

How large is the BioShock download?

I'm at the end of my bandwidth for the month. Not a big deal but if we are looking at 20Gb I'll wait till next week.
