Whenever I change to high resolution in the options and click accept the game crashes. I read there were some community patches to fix this, is this so? How can I fix this issue?

FFS Hold down Alt + press Enter to change it to windowed mode,Then change your resolution, Then hit Alt + Enter to change back to full screen mode.
