I have an ISO file for Marco Polo (1995 Infogrames) but am unable to save my games in progress.

I am able to run it in DOSBox with the imgmount command. Alternatively, I have mounted it in Windows with Virtual CloneDrive, copied the contents to a HDD folder and ran that in DosBox with the normal mount command. Both of these directly run the game and I don't go through a setup (which I assume is somehow the problem), but there is no setup or install file that I can see.

Any thoughts on how to make this work or a workaround?

How did you come into possession of this ISO? Because this is probably not the ideal place to be asking for help with abandonware, if that is what we're talking about here.

that's a real obscure game. can't find nothing on gamefaqs and its HOTU page no longer have any links to any manuals. next to nothing on dosbox.com or vogons forum too.

it was approved on abandonia 3 years ago, but no page for it or info on how to run it.

it seems to be originally a CD-i game. good luck trying to emulate it though. the only functional CD-i emulator seems to be abandoned 3 years ago too. and before that, the dev of the emulator made it a trial-ware that expires in 2012. curious game. tell me if you dig up any more info on it.

you could try contacting a few youtubers who uploaded some gameplay videos of it. MAYBE they have the original copy and a manual somewhere???
