gamesfreak64: lol, an option to hide the 'stinkers' in our library would be great, offcourse still leave an on and off button

on GG you can hide games so they wont show up in the shelf... [snip]
There IS a "hide game [or movie]" option for each title in your GOG library, right alongside the links for the forum, support and reviews pages for the game (underneath all the downloadable files). I've never tried it, though, so I'm not sure if you can "un-hide" the game or movie after you've hidden it.

Nice, now that Germany finally has minimum wage (that is still higher than many jobs were paid before), you'd have to pay more than me with this rule. After all your advocating for regional pricing for months, that's probably what you'd deserve.
avatar
realkman666: Because it's not based on personal income, but on regional economy.

Zoidberg: Which is unfair on a personal level.

Besides, we're not talking bread or heating, but of videogames, a luxury good...

What's to do then? Let's pirate games massively so that they lower the prices to a more acceptable price?

Meh...

A unique price is the best solution to me, regional sales could be a solution too, I think.

opticq: Why does delaying the PC version (assuming it was done for quality control) make you entitled to any free content?

That doesn't seem right to me
avatar
Zoidberg: 1 The content has already been made at the time of release
2 The content has already brought an extended amount of money to the devs.
3 The game arrives months and months after the console version and at the same price (if I'm not mistaken)

All this can easily fail to give incentive to some people to throw money at the devs...
true :D

i see you are from belgium ?
you have euros aswell :D
regional pricing is okay, should haven been done in the 1st place.
Our guilder always performed quite well and stable in the past, the euro is abit down now becuase our european govs have f-ed up and enrichent themslves, the good old hand in tha registers take the money and run :D
But apart from that euros is quite stable and is used by more then 20 countries already

who uses the usd? america and maybe some more in the past canada seem to havehad a canadian dollar that was worth more guilsers i heard ( some talked about 8 guilders at a time) then the poor usa dollar that was always around 2 guilder maybe 3 at tops when i was a kid , since i was 8 i haven seen the US dollar become more than 3 guilders... so

euros are fine and when things get better it may rise again so the regional prices be better for europe
the higher the value of a euro vs a USD the better prices for european countrie users
Nowadays europe is a bit getting behind , but never forget we were doing quite well in the old days :D
Europe did very well and all the countries in it.

Is it really settled? I know there was something about certain industries, but for a country that calls itself modern, that's nice to hear.

It can be pretty hard to notice. If you're using the "shelf" view, it's light gray text on a dark gray background. Like I said, when you click on one of your games, look underneath all the downloadable installers and bonus material, and you'll see a row of links; one of those should say "hide game". =)
I still haven't tried any Oddworld game. The first one to get my attention was Munch's Oddysee on XBOX, but I never bought it (for some dumb reason) I think I read the mediocre reviews and ended up buying Dead or Alive or some forgettable garbage instead.

I grabbed Munch's Odysee HD on a recent PSN sale, I'll have to check it out and decide if I want to buy the other games here.

thanks, i use shelf view
sometimes if i want to print out all the games i own to a pdf file , I switch to list view
or switch page style in browser view to: no style
then page shows the images with plain text ,

like this (depending on how i ordered it (usually on last date)

ALL GAMES 193 My collection
LORDS OF THE REALM: ROYAL EDITION
imagefile
MASTER OF MAGIC
imagefile
ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON: DELUXE
imagefile
CRUSADER KINGS COMPLETE
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

for now i will past all game names in an excel sheet, lateron i will make a very basic and simple acces database in acces 2007

search on: title, name, date bought, gametype, multiplayer: yes/no hd: yes/no sales: yes/no price

there are lots of freeware programs that will do the job, but i know from the past that they are to complicated, and the interface is usually not the way i like it, so i make a simple base myself.

the_voivod: Re: DLC, to me it's the thin end of the wedge; we've already seen pre-order DLC (Ethan Carter, for example), and I really don't like how this is now progressing on GOG.
hi, just saw you post here, you are here almost from start? 2010
thats a 5th anniversary for you in sep this year, nice work

i recently joined: sep 2014
so i have to go long before i have 5th anniv.

about DLC..... its a thing you either love or hate or are able to ignore

I think that if the DLC does not add anything extra to the game than:

extra mp3/flac and other goodies that are not used / usable in game, and wont change your playing experience
then its okay to sell it, cause then you can choose not to buy it.

If it does change the game somehow, and makes the games feel like it 'misses' something then it is
arguable , meaning leaving room to discuss about it.

example:

sword of the pit
has dlc
most of the JPRG games here have some DLC

deluxe version giving non game related extras is more to fund the developer
so it all depends on what it is for.

Of course there are exceptions (thanks to CDU, which is the Germany equivalent of the republicans in USA):

In conclusion: The ones that needed it the most still don't get a minimum wage.

Aw man. :/

Is the main problem the wildly different economies of the East and West regions?
do i get it right, this game is a remake not a sequel?

apehater: do i get it right, this game is a remake not a sequel?
It is a remake yes but some things are different so it is not an exact copy. :) At least that's what I read.

Sorry but I don't think you get it, the euro being on the weaker side is actually better, becasue that way we get a bit less screwed. Because when it is considered that 1 dollar equals 1 euros, the stronger the euro, the stronger we're screwed...
i thought that if we could buy more dollars for 1 euro the usd would be weaker allowing us to get more dollars for less euros.

if 2 usd would be needed to buy 1 euro, that means that we are doiing well in europe? or not?
so that they pay 2 usd and get only 1 euro

i dont know if a lower exchange for euro would result in higher prices?
if that is, it would mean that if the times comes 2 usd are worth 1 euro we would be paying double for our games?

if so thats not correct.

If 80 eurocent (0,8 euro) can buy 100 usd cents (1 dollar) then the euro should be in a strong position allowing to get more games for les money .....

it would be very weird if a euro is much lower then usd (we would need 2 euros to buy just 1 us dollar)
that we would get more games, thats not right.

I always found that exchange stuff too complicated and mucht to illogical.

i googled and it sounds ok if us dollar would became big again, but it could have disasters:

full link: http://www.npr.org/2015/01/06/375201124/how-a-too-strong-dollar-might-lead-to-a-too-weak-world

a nice piece i cut out:

--->
It's not just U.S. manufacturers who worry about the rising dollar. The U.S. tourist industry also could take a hit if Germans, Brits and others can no longer afford to visit Florida this winter.

"A strong dollar is a double-edged sword that could hurt a lot of U.S. companies," said Lindsey Piegza, chief economist for Sterne Agee.

<-------------

so generally these guys tell that it be better if usd would go down again, in the long term, they would benefit more from than then beiing at the top :D

this economy doesnt makes sense :D
i never understood this :D
