As GOG downloader is now long gone, can you download installers through GOG? I've had trouble downloading offline installers from time outs or just connection interruptions.
It would just be nice if through galaxy you could download them to install and run the old way.
Is there an option to do this through galaxy and if so how?

Thank you.

If you go to the "Extras" section of a GOG game, you can download a backup offline installer and you just run the executable to install the game. I think you can find the backup installer file on your default GOG Galaxy/GOG Galaxy/Games folder (or just click on the folder icon when the download completes).

Once you have galaxy installed it is there for good. The offline installers contain dlls (not all of them though) which link in to galaxy, so if it is installed, you could still be using even if you think it is running. Best bet, download from the website and don’t install galaxy, best you can do, or use gogrepo script. Unfortunately galaxy is like an STD, “optional” but nearly impossible to get rid and as useful.

This is savagely incorrect. I'm not a huge Galaxy fan, and one reason I've always gone through GOG is because I like having the offline installers (you know, like I actually own the game I paid for XD ) but I do have Galaxy on one of my PCs, and I've *had it on two others, and later *removed it from those two, and it's now gone, and everything still runs just fine on both of them. Additionally, Galaxy *is useful, if nothing else, because if a download fails because of unstable wifi (which does happen in the PNW, usually because of weather,) they can be restarted, whereas with a direct download from the site, a failed download requires you to start over from scratch.

I don't understand why but sometimes the Galaxy offline downloads work and sometimes they do not. It is quite frustrating.

Today I have had only "failed to download" issues.

What is the problem and how can it be solved? Anyone know?

Thank you for your help.
