You can always use the Nvidia driver with your Asus. You don't have to use the Asus drivers (which probably are 100 % Nvidia + some added useless features).

Thanks for the reply.
So i can get these by manual download at the nvidia site i guess?
Just bumped into this cooler: Cooler Arctic Cooling Accelero Arctic Xtreme IV (3 fans)
works:
Nvidia GeForce:
GTX 980, 970, Titan X, Titan (Black), 780 (Ti), 770, 760, 750 (Ti), 680, 670, 660 (Ti), 650 (Ti,Ti boost), 580, 570, 560 (Ti,SE), 550 Ti, 480, 460(SE), GTS 450, 250, 240 (OEM), GT 740

64.95 euro which is almost half the price of a average GPU
but i guess it would keep things as cold as ice pops in a freezer :D

but these are for GPU only, and my CPU needs "artic cooling".

The cpu seems to have problems with online flashgames, flashplayer is badly optmised cause my cpu needs to run at max (3200) so 3 coolers for my CPU would have been better cause thats usually the one that gets 'abused' a lot by bad designed unity games (99% of all games i own that were written in unity perform very bad)

Some claim the CPU is overused ,because the GTS 250 is performing so bad, and cant handle it thus forcing the GPU to take a pounding.
I dont know if that is true (i doubt it) but that might be the issue.

I'm not family of the rich rotschilds so i cant just buy it just to test it :D

If i had tons of cash i could buy a giant case and have loads of fans in it, that would also need a villa to store the giant case :D

All i can do is try to get the 750 ti and see what happens, maybe the CPU stress wont be resolved because the games (unity) are just badly developed.

For now i just have to wait till i can get that GPU card and see if it will solve anything (i doubt it)
my guess its because the entire PC = +++ in away , its more then7 years old............. (normally every 4-5 years people would get a new one but thanks to the birth of the euro thats no longer possible, so maybe i should throw the poor pc into a canyon or 'shoot' it :D hahahaha

Anyway, just joking about that miserable pc, i have to do with it :D

If you don't plan to overclock you do not require an additional gpu cooler; and yes gpu & cpu cooler are 2 different things.

Could be that the cpu gets more strain with certain software if the gpu sucks. Someone with more insight could answer that probably more accurate if you share complete system specs (type of CPU, type & amount of RAM at least).
if you are interested in other manufacturers, I have the EVGA version and is amazing. Short, quiet! I can't say anything about benchmark comparisong but I've watched a lot on youtube and seems to have the good sight.

What is your CPU?

Regarding the previous question, yes, you can download your driver from Nvidia's website.

my CPU ? old one

2009

i5 750 quad core 2.67 (max 3.2 ghz)
i have it in the hwmonitor screenshot because avadon 3 strains my cpu to much
and my cpu should have no problem at all cause the min req for avadon 3 is 800 mhz

https://www.gog.com/upload/forum/2016/12/a349f7cc3dd109b78612f115193c02da04cb38d3.png

i'm getting the ASUS GeForce GTX 750 Ti and a new powersupply aswell cause its all dated from 2009
the cpu should be okay , read many posts on the internet that if you dont play heavy fps, shooters and 3d it should still do the job for 'simple' games like old 3d click and point games.
So in a few days i will know what the result will be with a new GPU and new powersupply.

edit: seems i typed 760 and never corrected the mistake :D
changed to 750

The CPU will probably botlleneck the 750 but you will still see improvements over 250.

yes cpu bottlenecked my GPU i already expected that but hoped it would not effect my performance.
thanks for the reply, card is faster cause overal refreshing is faster then before so i notice some difference, but unity games are still bad and there is no real improvement cause the gpu will be taking it easy cause its stronger then the gts but the 'retired' CPU is still struggling to get the game run.

Thats why i asked for devs to mention if a game is developed in unity this way i can avoid these games cause it wont be fun playing games that frustrate my CPU.

Is your CPU really the problem? An i5 seems decent to me, even if it's an older one. What games were you trying to run on it?
At what resolution do you play? The lower the resolution the more CPU bound you'll be.

1024x768 because of my needed VGA monitor crt 17 inch of which recommneded setting are: 1024x768 @ 85 hz
and max: 1280x1024 @ 75hz

I am also checking how many games wont work with the new gpu: so far Gorky doesnt work in any mode, gonna reinstall the game but i fear that wont solve much, now its time to see how many more games wont be working, i hope it stays to one game.
