It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I do love drivers that don't require anything else to work...

Well, this is one of the many reasons Linus Torvalds said "Fuck you Nvidia".

Have you considered your good friend AMD?
What exactly is the issue here? (serious question)
1. Download the driver from the Nvidia website. Install.
2. Uninstall Geforce Experience; disable telemetry.

You don't need GE to get an updated driver, just repeat the above steps.

For those who haven't seen it..

And why you not select to not install GeForce Experience instead of install it to after uninstall it?

Sure, if that's possible.
-> I don't remember, since I haven't updated my driver in the last 2 years. (No need, my GPU works fine.)
Just use the NVCleanstall link I posted above, it will fetch the nvidia driver, letting you to choose which components you want to install, getting rid of all the useless crap in the process. Best way to install the nvidia drivers to my knowledge.
The question is, why update? I mean as a serious question, not in a provocative way.
Do you find much better features/ performance with updated drivers or latest games less stuttering?
Maybe update once in a while but every version?

I tend to not update GPU drivers unless a set of features/fixing stability version is released, one of those cases were the freaking amazing set of software/drivers from AMD. And IMHO there is no need to update drivers on older GPU but I know next to nothing about drivers, hence my question.

That, remains to be seen as the others are useless.

You don't know about drivers but know about pc components/building one, now I would suggest that's very strange.

I can manage to build some pc's and do some electronic mods etc... But software development is kind of a black art to me, mainly drivers, wich I know absolutelly nothing about, how they work other than the very basic stuff "like go to the manufacturer website and install". Nothing strange about it :D

To my limited knowledge nvidia do a bunch of game specific tweaks/optimisations so a new driver can mean better performance/fixed bugs. And to my even more limited knowledge this is even more important for folks with multiple cards as that can not work at all with some games or have poor performance without game specific tweaks. There are also some things like security bugs just like every other bit of software not sure how serious but given the graphics card can be accessed through a browser its more of a concern these days than in the past.
