It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I have been doing it in Photoshop in the past but I find it much easier to do in Lightroom because it's less time consuming. If you use Lightroom I would recommend the LR/Mogrify 2 plugin, it's a lot better than the inbuilt one.

I would also recommend Lightroom for managing and editing photos in general, if you have never needed Photoshop until now then Lightroom should be enough. Adobe are moving to a only subscription model for their software so it can get expensive if you don't use them regularly. I think Lightroom is the only software Adobe has that they still sell as a standalone software.

Sage103082: I loved this one very much until I got to the very end and had my watermark and everything all figured out. DEMO only and will show demo on my photos. Buy it to remove it.

=( I do not mind buying something a bit down the line after things pick up at my new job but for now free is the way to go.
That's bad!  It's supposed to be open source, not a shareware...

I've added 4 other freewares to the list (see above).  <span class="bold">uMark</span> seems to be a good one.

I love the way you organise your posts, so much clarity and ease of reading, just like your reply to my birthday question thread :)

Tarnicus: PS - Hi Sage :)
I agree. I love that you organized everything with so much information and it was very easy to follow and check out everything and you included so much and pictures!! . Thank you!!

I played around with making a batch file and that definitely can work. Though I will need to install Photoshop at work too. I am going to check out the others tomorrow.

Thank you everyone that took the time away from gaming/forums/life to help me with this. The time you are going to save me will be huge!!!

Hey Tarnicus -Yes I know work ended for the weekend hours ago and yet I am still messing around with work related stuff. =P I think I might need a work intervention. I will be checking in on our chat before bed.

You've done nothing but work since you started that job! Your new boss better give you at least one gold star for your efforts, preferably made from real gold :P
I would actually suggest learning how to program if you don't already know how. Python is a good first language to learn, as it is easy for beginners and has many useful libraries. (For the specific task you have, the Python Imagiing Library (PIL), or rather its friendly fork Pillow, will do just what you need.)

The advantage of writing the program is that, once it has been written, you can add the text to all new photos added to the website. If you need to change the text (and you have kept the unmodified photos), all you need to do is change the text in your program and run it again.

Learning to program will help a lot with repetitive tasks like this: Instead of doing it yourself, have the computer do it!

Edit: As a side note, I used Python to create my own avatar. The libraries I used were Numpy, Pillow and Cython. For what you need to do, Pillow is the only library you need, as it can handle adding text to images and saving them in the format of your choice. Then again, you may later need to automate some other repetitive task later.

Edit 2: Someone actually has written Python code to do just what you need.

Sage103082: Does anyone know of a program or application that can add a line of text to the bottom or top of a photo. Preferably more then one at a time.

I have just started a new job running a car lot and the lot is a branch of a bigger lot and I would like to add the location and phone number on the bottom of all the photos that I am adding to the website so when people see the photos they know where it is located and the number to call.

Thank you in advanced!!!!

(I do have photoshop and can add it one by one but I am looking for something to save a bit of time and do more then one at a time)
I have tons of images to watermark.I do this using this software called - Mass Watermark it can bulk watermark and resize pics. There are inbuilt text/logo placement options like top left, bottom right etc.Its very easy to use.Take a look at this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKviwY-4tBY

here is the link to the software's site http://www.masswatermark.com/
