It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Nethack on a smartphone is definitely convenient, control schema of softkeyboard & touchscreen can get confusing.
Especially the outdated controlpad off movement keys....at least for me

I personally liked https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mordor:_The_Depths_of_Dejenol , it's got a lot in common with Nethack, but the graphics are a bit updated and it's got that classic windows 3.1 interface to it.
ASCII graphics work best for me.
Ignore the never-ascended constant YASD's.
I will just never be that hardcore.

If I can't re-load you can go blow it out your fanny.

yogsloth: I will just never be that hardcore.

If I can't re-load you can go blow it out your fanny.
If you always reload you miss out on the bones files/graves of your former runs.

Has anyone who plays on servers ever received or sent messages?
The older versions of nethack supposedly had a tiny daemon come up & deliver you the message in-game.

I don't remember anyone ever mentioned trying/being able to KILL the messenger daemon.
Or if the message left you with a scroll that could be repurposed.
On killing mail daemons:
It is possible to create a mail daemon by means of wishing for a statue of it which can then be re-animated by casting stone to flesh. This is largely useless, as the resulting mail daemon will disappear in one turn ("I'm late!") unless you attack it, in which case it will disappear if you step away from it. Killing a mail daemon will automatically (and silently) genocide mail daemons, preventing future mail delivery and violating Genocideless conduct.

That is very cool @VanishedOne.

Now I want to search ascension files for mail daemon genocides.
