This looks very much like Tower of Guns 2. Nuff said

Blurb from press release:
""Our mission is clear, our determination strong, and our guns are very, very big. Terrible Posture Games, in partnership with Grip Digital, is proud to announce MOTHERGUNSHIP, a bullet-hell FPS hybrid for PC and consoles that pits you, Earth’s last hope, against the armadas of data-hoarding robotic alien invaders.

MOTHERGUNSHIP mixes bullet-hell intensity with the shooting, customization, and traversal of the first-person genre. Fight your way through the alien fleets, facing randomized enemy and level mayhem as you clear rooms and take out some of the biggest bosses seen in the FPS genre.""

The homepage works for me without the https
www.mothergunship.com

And I'm pretty happy about this "sequel".
I usually don't play FPS but I really liked Tower of Guns.

After I saw this trailer I pondered what I liked so much about it, and for me it was:
- it didn't take itself too serious
- no gore and/or blood (I'm squeamish)
- randomized level (that cut down on frustration for me because I didn't have to do the same thing over and over again)
- all the different stories! :D
- the different atmospheres of the levels (the warehouse really gave me the creeps though)
- I also liked all the unlockable stuff!

So I'm pretty sure I'll like Mothergunship as well!

Randomly genera... goodbye. Next time, design proper levels.

actually, they are very well designed. Play ToG and come back and say this.

I wasn't that impressed by Tower of Guns, so I'm feeling quite indifferent about the sequel.

The levels in ToG were "proper" IMO. :)
Maybe it's more difficult to design good levels using randomized elements but for me ToG proves that it is possible. :)
I expect no less of Mothergunship.
I wouldn't call ToGs levels randomly generated. The rooms were the same, amount and placement of the bad guys varied, and the selection / order of the rooms varied.

Loved ToG so I'm curious about this one. Thanks for mentioning the game, amok.
It looks so much like Tower of Guns that it really should be named Tower of Guns 2, or Tower of Guns 2: Mothergunship, or even something like Mothergunship: A Tower of Guns ———. As it currently stands, you have no way of knowing that there is a close connection without watching some gameplay or already being aware of it.

I guess that depends on how "random" things really are. I'm just not a fan of roguelikes in general, and in an FPS an idea of randomly generated levels irks me even more. Maybe ToG is actually way better than I imagine, and so will this be, but it just doesn't sound like anything I'd be interested in.

It's definitely not for everyone.
I think part of my excitement stems from the fact that I'm generally not interested in FPS but enjoyed Tower of Guns so much! xD
But yeah, I like roguelikes or RPMs, so that's a plus for me as well.
Ah, the controversial Tower of Guns ;)
There is now a Steam page with more info, which also means it includes a forum - http://store.steampowered.com/app/574090/
