Hi folks , while i was digging around old pc chip/bug CD's i found this one platformer game where you re thrust into "hell" and your only weapon is this sort of gun and umbrella that doubles as a boomerang first 3 levels are this decending fall with green pipes and bird robots and the second level is a start of water zone level (Note this was about 10 years ago and it still lurks in my mind)

I couldnt find it while trying to google it because of how often the "hell" thing is
if anyone has any idea it would be much appreciated

Shouldn't the name of the game be mentioned on the CD?

He said 10 years ago, maybe he doesn't have the CD anymore.

To respond to OP, that doesn't ring a bell here, sorry I can't help

Well, to be more precise - the OP said "while i was digging around old pc chip/bug CD's i found this one platformer game".
So, I think, I may not be completely wrong in my assumption that he has the CDs at hand right now.

Names not printed on the CDs (they always were printed on German Games Mag's CDs)?

Is there maybe a site online, where they list the games, demos, etc. that were on the magazine's CDs?
(I found some old game's names that way in the past)

I don't know the Bug magazine, but it seems as if they printed the program's names on their CDs:

Edit: come to think of it (and reading the OP in full again), I come to the conclusion, that this thread doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
Points in particular:
1) OP was checking out old magazine CDs
2) OP "found this one old platformer game" on one of these old CDs
3) OP asks for the name of the game that he apparently just found
4) OP claims now, (some of) the CDs can't be accessed properly, anymore (including the one he found the game on?)

None of the above makes any sense if taken together. *shrug*

point 1 wrong : if i was able to find it myself wouldnt be asking here
point 2 wrong : if by found you mean now it wouldnt make sense to come here asking for help , it was over 10 years ago and i had hoped someone here ran into the same game
point 3 wrong: read point 2 wrong.....
point 4 wrong: Read your own reply "Shouldnt the name be mentioned on the cd" YES some are mentioned but most of these have more than whats written on the disc ergo my saying i cant access them due to software issues...

edit : another important detail while i DID check for this game i just hoped that IF i couldnt find it myself id find someone here who could find it like i did see on a older post

Was the game a side scroller?
Can you describe the UI , character, or enemies?

Also, have you tried asking here?

somewhat of a side scroller but it has this downward scroll too not just left and right like super mario

enemies were robotic birds, demons, frog-robots

your main weapon was an umbrella witha glide machanic ( i cant remember if you COULD jump)

the weapon had a boomerang feature

style was mostly pixelated a less fancy kirby iirc

cant remember the character sadly

Given that traditional 2D platformers were kinda dead at the time, this mobysearch might get you on the right path if you middle click though the relevant years.

The umbrella with a glide mechanic makes me think of CJ Elephant. It's a side-scroller that also scrolls up & down. And CJ shot peanuts through his trunk, to kill enemies. However, there was no robotic animals, and I don't recall any boomerangs.

CJ In The USA

CJ's Elephant Antics

EDIT: Sorry, forget CJ Elephant. The timelines don't match.

Was it either MDK or MDK2 by any chance? Both are here on GOG.

Sadly no

but it does look like XRick as far as visuals go
