tinyE: I can't believe this thread has turned into a flame war. XD Mind you I am just as much to blame as everyone else so maybe we all need to have some prune juice and take five. :P

hedwards: I'm surprised it took that long. Kind of reminds me when I pointed out that gaming in excess isn't actually good for you. Boy, did the pitchforks come out for that one. Even though there's really no evidence to the contrary and a huge pile of evidence that it's not good for you.
Well it's relative. I traded in drug addiction for game addiction. TRUST ME: Health wise I'm much better off!!!! :D That and not once have I been pulled over by a cop and asked, "Sir, have you been playing Diablo tonight?"

wpegg: I must admit, I haven't looked into this thread in detail, but if nobody has invented "Starcraft Boxing" I'm claiming it!
That would be a sport in the same way that Chess boxing is a sport.

All the nerdrage in here because they're not allowed to call themselves athletes for playing games is just ridiculous.

I've probably wasted enough time in here as it's apparent that some people here have deep psychological scarring rather than an actual opinion.

Moderation is the thing. Some gaming can be good for you, but people forget that it's a real addiction and one that does, on rare occasions, prove fatal. Obviously, that's an extremely rare case, but it has happened, so it's an addiction not to be taken lightly.

The default key organization on some games qualifies.

Keep telling yourself or the ladies that.

"Hey baby, you know what I do? I play System Shock with no mouselook patch! You hot yet?"

People attacked you because you told them sitting on their asses for too many hours a day is not good for them? LOL

Virtual reality devices and telepresence ought to really muddy the discussion in the future.
Depends. It is a competitive interaction between people, and considering the harsh training there is behind it, as opposed to what those misinformed might believe, I am inclined to call it a sport. After all, even chess has its audience who call it a sport. Esports is really tough, and Korean teams train from 12 to 15 hours a day to stay in shape for world championships.

Same comment stands: that is not sport ;)

Digital Sports are kinda like fat people eating to get thinner. Sports are physical, so unless we have fast clicking competitions. Gaming is not a sport. But it can be competitive.

Not a sport, but competitive. Like trivia. It isn't sport related, but you do work a mental muscle. It is still not a sport.
