I apologize for posting on these forums after promising not to anymore but I can't for the life of me find out how to contact someone from GOG customer service. I click on Contact Us, and am taken to an external "GOG.COM" site (I know it's external because even though I'm logged in here at Gog.com, that website comes up with a big bright LOGIN tab, then I hit backspace and am back on GOG.COM and logged in with all the regular tabs at the top. Si I'm posting here in the hopes a blue will see it and PLEASE contact me or respond here.

I saw a game (Field of Glory - Empires) in the Strategy section of games on sale, read the VERY FIRST (and thus voted most helpful) review which read in part:

"The manual is a must-read, including the design notes, all of which is very well written and full of tips on how to play the game well."

So imagine my surprise when I purchase the game, go to download such "a must read" and "very well written" manual "full of tips on how to play the game well" and.... NO MANUAL.

I want to know if that's a simple oversight or if there is no manual, in which case I want a refund for not only that game but every game I purchased in that block today.

Can a blue help me out or not?

EDIT: Added a screenshot of the one of many games with a manual, and then in the second screenshot, FOG - Empires... no effing manual.

The manual is included in the game folder:

Is this the new normal? I've been here since almost the beginning and have literally hundreds of games with manuals and they all showed up as a "goodie" to be downloaded.

I haven't downloaded the game itself because if there is in fact no manual then I want a refund. I'll wait to here confirmation before I download it (and potentially lose my refund opportunity)... although I thought I read somewhere that might have changed too so that you can get a refund even if you've downloaded it,

ADDED: While I'm here on the forums, I've noticed something else that may be different from all the years I've been here. Forever, when I was a gog.com I could click on my name at the top (see screenshot) and my game library would show up. Now when I click on it, an empty white page shows up. I swear to Christ gog seems to be moving in all the WRONG directions.

I saw several games where the manual is included in the game folder. Some of them have an additional download. It seems random. For several games where a manual is missing there is an extra thread:

According to their Support page:
"How does your updated Voluntary Refund Policy work?
The updated policy lets you refund a product up to 30 days after purchase, even if it was downloaded, launched, and played. Yes, you read that correctly. :)"

You can find information about games on GOG on gogdb.org. The entry for Field of Glory - Empires:

Here is the manifest for the game:

It's the same login / password, also most of the time simply clicking login will log you on without having to enter anything. After that you just need to talk with the bot until it let you create a ticket.
dont look at me, im not one of you meatbags

It's not really the "new" normal; it's the "has been for quite a long time" normal. I think even some of my old installers (games where the manual is also a separately downloadable goodie) are included in the download. You should typically also see an entry on your start menu folder for the game for the manual.

In the limited number of cases where a manual exists but isn't included with the GoG release, you can have some luck on sites such as replacementdocs (unless the publisher kicked off about this). Of course, in some very rare cases, the manual is lost to the mists of time...

It works on me. GOG seems to get some minor malfunctionality sometimes
