wpegg: As others have said - if it stops being fun, they broke their game (for you). The obvious example for me would be Psychonauts (before they patched it). One of the best games ever made, but I didn't finish the meat circus because at the time it was simply a wall of frustration. I tried for a while, was advised it only got harder than what I was currently struggling with, so quit, watched youtube for the ending. I've never regretted that, the level was just no fun.
To think, that's the level I just started. Hmm.
I play mostly adventures so it is probably some pixel hunting in question and occasionally "weird logic". When I must resort to the usage of walk-through, I use just this small part I cannot solve or notice.

I'll usually do same in case of some other action orientated genres if I have died to many times, because there is probably right way to do something I have not figured.

There are also games that can be incredibly hard even on basic difficulty level very near the end. If I have played most of the game and cannot defeat final boss after reasonable number of attempts I see no shame in watching someone else's play-through of final fight and end scene/s. I usually play games for their story and fun. There is no need for frustration.

Sometimes I just try later, perhaps even a month/s later when I think I'm ready to achieve it on my own. Some games don't have proper ending and end is what you set yourself as goal, high-score, achievement/s... so it is important to not set yourself to high goal, especially in pay to win games.

WBGhiro: Oh I remember Mortal Kombat 9, I finished that game and got through half the trial tower without really memorizing a single decent combo. Then I realized fighting games are probably just not for me.

Install it again and get bitchslapped again and again until you can bitchslap it back. What's wrong with you do you actually have a job or something?

vidsgame: I honestly have no idea how people are so quick to beat those types of games. I have seen it done and I really envy them. Maybe, it's from years of gaming in general or they started out at an early age.
Two potentials:
1. Actual skill
2. Become the god of button mash cheese combos

I tend to favor 2 since I have no skill with combos.

People have accused me of button mashing before, however, I was attempting to do combos. Just was having difficulty doing them fast enough. Still won in multiplayer but it would've been so amazing to see Spirit Bomb in action or Subzero's Freeze Fatality for those playing Mortal Kombat.

Yeah, the timing on some games is pretty horrific. Especially the longer strings. Memory is kinda fuzzy about MK9, but I believe MKX wasn't as difficult to pull off moves.

I'll have to look into those. I've seen a few trailers for MKX, though.
