Say, did you miss one of those threads? Get ready, because now that i both recovered and i returned, after a whole week of absence, i am back in business and full force, too.

Say, just today, i was approached by representatives of a certain *religious* organization. You know, just one of those officially recognized heresies- whoops, religions, i meant, but one of those USA originating ones, who form tentacles-whoops, connection networks i meant, among its "believers" and real followers. And bring them certain profits and benefits, the least bit of those being a better social standing, perhaps some economic backing (not that i really need that one, at least for the time being) and certainly, abundant chances to profess my concealed REAL *religion* with the "cattle" there (this "church" is known for many scandals, especially in Australia)!

Problem is, i would hate to "bump" on "virtuous" preachers there who advocate abstinence and goody-two-shoesness, they could give me real trouble (even making my already ugly social standing even worse; how could that be possible though, i cannot help but wonder?)... Then again, they are known for scandals, hypocrisy and *eager* members to be of *HELP* to newcomers or other members. Even something like closed inner circle marriages and stuff.

What to do...? Anyone is allowed to come at their gatherings, this one is true. No one is obligated to pay a single dime for their organization, either... Should i gamble away my destiny on their godawful wreck of a philosophy? No chance in hell i am converting, after having been elevated by eastern paradigms, of course, just flying their colors to bounty hunt profit for good old me... What say you? Friends, pal-gamers, people who hate me, people who like me...? Would you grab the opportunity, had you been in my shoes? I have all time in the world to decide, until Sunday. Plus, they have chinese people among their ranks... Damn, i always wanted to get myself an Asian GF, whee!

Religious people are not really that dumb. If you are a horny animal who just joined the church for getting sex with girls then the sharp, cunning elders in that group will sense your intentions and get rid of you.

Religion is a one way street. You won't get anything out of it except for the hope of afterlife in heaven. You just have to give your time and money and resources, serve, obey and pray.

Basically, exactly what this guy said. If you're not joining to improve yourself, don't join. Yes, it's sad that some "Christians" will pretend to be of the faith just to make themselves seem innocent, but you can suss them out by how they act. Real Christians are not like this and do not associate with those who are.
I am a Christian and firm in my faith (yes, yes, you can begin the mocking now, I don't mind), so I can hopefully explain to you any questions you have. Just keep in mind that a vast majority of "Christians" are not what they claim to be.

It's true what they say, "You don't know what you have until it's gone".
I already miss those amazing times without Bradley.
But who's the authority on dealing with who's real and who isn't? I'm pretty sure somewhere, someones thinking you're not a real one.

I have no idea who this guy is, but I'm +1ing you anyways for that.
If you go, consider taking a hidden camera with you and sharing your experience with us (and the press if something hilarious ensues). ;)
I'm done with organized religion and have my own set of philosophy (which is mostly daoistic), so such meetings always creep me out.

This is Bradley. He is hopefully just a troll, if not...yeesh. I can point you to a few of his more notorious threads, if you want?

On topic: Back already Bradley? Say...you should go ahead and take another vacation from here and make it much longer than the last one, you deserve it!

I'm one of the few Christians who rarely goes to church. It's so hard to find one where the people know what they're talking about. It's sad.

I thought this would be about D W Bradley.
I'm disappointed.

There are three threads to start off with, if you're looking to learn about our OP here. There are plenty more for you to check out, but that's a good starting point.

It's rarely about philosophy or faith and mostly about being part of a herd, making social connections and looking down upon the outsiders. Some of the music is cool though (not only talking about christian branches here).

Yeah, his threads are always like "a 4channers story about his path to hell" and shouldn't be taken too seriously.

It's a shame, really. You can typically tell when they start throwing around buzzwords and dodging the point.
The music fascinates me. It's always so much more powerful when the composer feels inspired or driven to create their piece from a personal lifetime experience, such as "Amazing Grace".
